UNC Charters!
University of Northern Colorado (Sigma Omega) will see the charter return to campus after an almost 15 year absence.
Chartering will be held on 1/16/04, ironically, the same date as the original chartering in 1976!

Updated - chartering will now be 1/24/04 due to scheduling conflicts at HQ. Invitations are available - if you'd be interested in attending, let me know, and I'll get you one - you could make this part of an extended "road/ski trip" - we're only 3 hours from some major ski areas!
Getting excited!

I'd love to, but turns out my sister, and a few buddies are getting together to throw me a suprise party (That I am not supposed to know about) for my 30th birthday.
Thanks for the offer tho and I'll get up there eventually.
A;though the free beer offfer is almost enough to get me in the F-150 and head north... lol.

30th, eh....wow, that was a LONG time ago for me.
However, it was unforgetable! My wife, unbeknownst to me, got some of my LXA brothers to kidnap me from my office and take me to a great party. I'll never forget it!
Word of advice - beware of alumni you haven't seen for a while that mysteriously appear at work. On your birthday. And seeing your boss with a peculiar, knowing, grin. And, make sure, as much as you can, that this all happens on a Friday, not a Monday!

Life, you missed one heck of an event. A chartering (oops - RE-chartering) banquet is a real experience - if you don't mind 30-something old brothers breaking down in tears of joy at seeing a charter returned!
I'd estimate about 100 people total in attendance last night. Lynn Chipperfield, Grand High Pi, gave a very nice keynote address.
So Sigma-Omega Zeta has officially been returned to active chapter status - only 15 years - whew! What a long road, but a worthwhile journey.

I have posted three photos from the chartering banquet at the Greekchatters2 Yahoo Groups site - a photo of the charter, of the founding fathers, and what I look like after lots of soap and water in a tux giving the alumni presentation...
I think you have to join the group, but it was the only place I could find to put photos up on the web.
