Dinner was take-out sushi. nom nom nom

Ashkenazi Jews generally consider rice to be forbidden during Passover. Rice is not on the official list of "chametz" (grains not to eat if they are exposed to leavening agents). But we're not idiots - rice is rice, and sushi rice doesn't get exposed to yeast or anything.

Sephardic Jews do eat rice during Passover. So I choose to follow that practice and enjoy my rice. And my fish. nom nom nom

Well, I start cooking for Easter today, so it is a "freezer" day.

On the menu for Easter:

Baby Greens with Roasted Red Beets, Goat Cheeze and Pecans; I'll do a fresh Champaign viniagrette
Marinated Leg of Lamb
Rice Pilaf
Roasted Asparagus with Balsamic Vinegar

My mother is baking a pie; there is no way I can outdo her on that one. Can't wait for the feast.

Tomorrow is pulled pork (my sister and I don't like ham), cheesey potatoes, balsamic pasta salad and buffalo chicken dip. Oh, and brownies and easter candy.

Tonight is Quaker Steak and Lube!

I made a big pot of multi-grain pasta and chicken sausage last night. I'll have that with roasted brussels sprouts and a dinner roll.

The Red Lobster haul:
Lobster bisque
Rock Lobster
Snow crab
Shrimp scampi (my least favorite of the entrée)

oh yes and Cheddar Bay Biscuits, including a packet to take home. I tipped her like 30%.

Now, excuse me while I slip into a food coma.
