Houses at Florida State!
Here are some houses at Florida State:
We have 15 sororities but these are the only pictures I could get.
Delta Delta Delta
Gamma Phi Beta
www.fsugammaphibeta.com (bigger picture)
Kappa Delta
Phi Mu
Zeta Tau Alpha
Delta Zeta (but it looks totally different now, because those huge trees aren't there)
Florida State has 19 IFC fraternities, however most houses are not located on campus anymore.
Pi Kappa Alpha
Kappa Alpha Order (for their Old South date function they make the house look like a fort, girls rent out "Gone with the Wind" type dresses and the guys dress up in Civil War-esque uniforms)
Phi Delta Theta (this is the elevation picture, but its now built and claims to be the biggest fraternity house in the nation. Before it was built, the Pike house supposedly had that distinction)
Lambda Chi Alpha (Lambda Chi along with Phi Delt and Pike are in Heritage Grove, a university sponsored Greek/apartment complex)

Thanks! Thats my house! That's how a lot of non-Greeks identify us for some reason--"Oh, you're the ones with the double staircases?" During the 70's and 80's, there was no lawn in front of the house, just pavement. They held some recruitment activities outside and girls would line up on the steps. Now we don't really use them, however random drunk people sometimes like to run up one side and down the other late at night.

The TEP house is right behind my house. The house to the right was AEPi's house but they moved. It was bought by an FSU alumni (for personal use) and was completely renovated. From what I can see through the windows, it is absolutely gorgeous inside. He is also building a pool in the back, it is above ground and will have a fence (I heard it was electric) around it since TEP and Pi Lambda Phi are right next door. The AEPi house had a parking lot that came with it, but since there's only going to be a couple of people living in the house, they didn't need the big parking lot and had room for the pool.
In regards to Phi Mu having a pool, or any other sorority on FSU's campus, there just simply isn't room. All excess land is used for parking. Each sorority house has private parking. About 10 years ago, the houses behind my house went up for sale and we bid against FSU. We got the money together quicker so we got the land. FSU has plans to buy up all the land around campus (where all the sorority and fraternity houses are built) for parking lots, even though we already have 4 parking garages.
Delta Tau Delta has been renovating their house for almost two years now, whereas the guy who bought the old AEPi house finished his renovation in 6 months or less. The University wants all fraternities to be in Heritage Grove, so that may be why it has taken so much time for the Delt house to renovate. A newly remodeled house means they're not going anywhere anytime soon.

Banditone, here's a picture of the Sigma Nu house at FSU, Zeta Zeta chapter. It's not very good because it came from facebook, but at least you can see what it looks like, if you haven't before. I think it was built in 1902 and definately hasn't had any major renovations since! lol

DMC, I heard that the fraternities that moved to the Grove aren't happy with the situation. Is that true?

Sorry about the pic....i found it on facebook.
No, I don't think the majority of houses are happy about the Heritage Grove situation. It takes away individuality. The complex is also heavily policed by FSU PD. The only good thing I guess is for Fraternity Rush...a lot of the houses are in one place.

I heard that the houses that aren't moved to the Grove are going to stick where they are and just tear down, and build on that area. Hopefully SN does that; their house looks way OLD
