I was OOS too. My parents didn't make it to AU until my graduation. Back then, there weren't all these parent-daughter activities but I wished my parents could've come by a few times like nearby girls' parents did.

For the past couple of years, Auburn has had wristbands to limit the number of people in the village Bid Day. This year each PNM will get 2 guest wristbands.
Each chapter can only have so many volunteers to help. Girls from the recruitment team escort the new members around the village from the arena to their Bid Day buddies waiting at the chapter room. Some chapters will have crazy costumes and tutus, some will be dressed up in sundresses their chapter colors. New Members will get gifts and Bid Day shirts when they get to the chapter room.
The parents are supposed to get an email after the bid opening to tell them which chapter room. Most chapters will distribute parents letters or information about the chapter to parents that come. Some chapters all will have at least one parent there, most chapters will have someone there for about half of the new members. After the initial welcome and photos, groups will break up for lunch and then come back to the chapter for a lock-in sleepover type activity with the new members and the sophomores. A LOT of parents will be there for the whole week of recruitment, some just for prefs and Bid Day. Most of the PNMs will stay in the dorms or set up their apartments.
