Cool I freaking love my new job...

OK, so I had been outta work since June, and things were getting really tight. Well I have sent out about 10,000 apps. to design firms (I am a graphic artist). I finally get hired by this new graphic design firm and was really releaved. Today was my first full day and it has been crazy. I love the job. They are just starting out, and I got to help them formulate the mission statement, business profile and marketing tools. TOO COOL.

Theres my co-workers. Finally I work someplace where the people are the same age as me, and listen to the same music as I do. Its a really trendy dot-com type joint thats located in a refurbished whaerhouse loft (parts of it are really scary and are freddie kruegerish). I have complete design freedom, my co-workers are fun and it is always chaos in here. I have been here since 9am, and it is now midnight. Were listening to 80's retro-hits, my boss bought pizza and beer and we are still working. Today I met two city councilmen, the mayor, and my boss brought his dog to the office today.

I am really glad to have found this place and it is SUCH a change from the last place I worked. (A school district where everyone was, well, former school teacher librarians). I FIT here. This holiday season I am very grateful for this job.

What wonderful news! No one can be happy if their job stinks, BUT, when you find the job that fits and you do what you love, success will be yours! What a great Christmas gift!

Congrats!

Sounds a little like my company, actually - I work for a dot.com (even though we've dropped the .com part of our name), I love the work I do (most days ) and I have great coworkers - and we even have beer on tap It would be great if our annual raises hadn't just been cancelled but hey, in this economy, those of us with jobs at all, let alone jobs we like, are very lucky.
