Phi Kappa Tau member Bill Bennett, an accounting and pre-law junior, performs a skit during Phi Mu’s Phinest. The fraternity pageant gave members of greek organizations an opportunity to strut their stuff.

Phi Mu’s Phinest contest drew a large crowd Wednesday night in the Student Union Little Theater to see Beta Theta Pi sophomore Kellen McGugan be crowned the first Mr. Phi Mu’s Phinest.

Featuring 20 contestants from Alpha Tau Omega, Beta, FarmHouse, Kappa Sigma, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Gamma Delta, Phi Kappa Tau, Pi Kappa Alpha, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Nu and Sigma Phi Epsilon, the event helped raise money for the sorority’s national philanthropy, the Children’s Miracle Network.

Not afraid to let it all hang out and shake their booties, the contests strutted their stuff with a special dance number choreographed by Phi Mu member Julie Moore, to start the show.

Each contestant was supported by a sorority and then in turn showed his appreciation toward the supporting sorority in the second part of the show, “Letter Pride.”

Showing their thanks by showing off their rears, the contestants kept the 150-plus crowd in stitches throughout the night.

The top 12 contestants, according to the judges’ scores, were then named. Each winner will be named as his own month in an upcoming calendar produced by Phi Mu.

The calendars will be available soon in front of Chi-O Clock in an effort to raise additional proceeds for the Children’s Miracle Network.
