Question Positive Greek Films

Is anyone aware of any films that depict Greek life in a positive way? I can think of several that show the ugly side, but none that highlight the positives. Thanks for your help!

Animal House: the greatest pro-Fraternity film of all time. Revenge of the Nerds: Kevin Costner. Ozzie & Harriett: no kidding; the 1950's TV series occasionally centered around the fraternity antics of Rick Nelson and his Kappa Sigma fraternity brothers at USC. Three in the Attic: 1960s movie that took place in the atmosphere of UNC's fraternity system.

What exactly would you consider positive? Just something that does not involve drinking?

Road Trip has that part where they stop by the fraternity house.

I loved Legally Blonde.

Pumpkin didn't involve drinking but showed stereotypical sorority cattiness.

I can only think of Legally Blonde

Anyone know if Amanda Brown (writer of the novel) is Greek? If so, is she a DG?

Shannen Doherty did a Lifetime movie, "Friends 'til The End" which was somewhat psycho, but the sorority is shown in a positive light. I don't remember if they ever name the sorority.

I don't know about her, but one of the screenwriters (Karen McCullah Lutz) went to JMU and was Greek. Don't know which sorority, though. She just wrote a novel called The Bachelorette Party which is supposed to be decent.

So embarrassed to admit that I know this, but it was a fake sorority called Delta Lambda.....but the movie was filmed at USC and they showed the outside of the Alpha Chi house!

I guess positive would be one that shows the community service and academic side and the relationships, I guess what could be considered a different look at Greek life besides the drinking and partying. I am trying to put together a vignette that will show interests a look at GReek life. I have all the 'negative' titles named, but I've never heard of Amanda. I will definitely check that one out.

It's so funny that as Greeks we want campus officials to see us as positive, as leaders, as civically engaged and after more than 200 years of GLO existence, we can't come up with even one. That is scary.

You are absolutely right. Unfortunately, that doesnt sell movie tickets. However, I did think that THE END of Sorority Boys did show things in a positive light. Although I cant say much for the rest of the movie.
