Did you know she's a KD?

I support her, of course, b/c she's my sister.

But my personal opinion is that some of the bags (the larger ones!) look like glorified diaper bags to me. Hehe.

Reminds me of the whole french provincial look. I guess the whole "preppy" thing from the 80s really is coming back in style..

Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead with one of those bags. If the fabrics were used for upholstery, now that's another story.

My boss at the time got me a Vera Bradley makeup bag in a really pretty cream colored pattern w/ my monogram YEARS ago. That was the first I had ever heard of it.

I've been toting around Vera Bradleys for quite a while now. So she's getting more popular? Haha, I was actually in on the ground floor of a trend for once!

Let me think; here's pretty much all the Vera I have:

Provincial Red
Duffel Bag
Sport Bag
Garment Bag
Petite Villager
Travel Cosmetic Case
Hard Eyeglass Case (2)

My 7 and 5 year olds love Vera too! They had a great time picking out their own patterns. Their Vera patterns are, respectively Maison Blue and Hope and they each have the following:

Sport Bag (great for overnights)
Mini Backpack (when I pack them lunches, they carry them here)
Large Cosmetic Bag (carries toothbrush, toothpaste and comb)
Coin Purse (lunch money)
Teeny Paddy Bag (just TOO cute; had to buy it! lol)

I like Veras because they're really durable and they hold a lot. Plus, they're relatively inexpensive and really, really cute!

BrownEyedGirl: Much as I love Vera, I have to draw the line at monograms! That crosses the line into Preppydom

I love Vera Bradley!! A LOT of girls at Auburn carry Vera! My pattern is Maison Blue and I have: petite Villager, wallet, coin purse and the medium sized cosmetic bag!

I love my ditty bag in Hope, but I think my new color will be pink pansy. Does anyone have a garment bag, I want want,, but does it hold up? Have you all seen the fake ones yet?

I feel like I'm in high school again! When I was a freshman, girls started carrying the smaller diaper-bag looking things as purses, and pretty soon, EVERYBODY and their grandmother had one (even me!). My favorite pattern is Greenleaf, which is so old it's probably been discontinued forever, but that's the last piece I bought. I refuse to carry the diaper bag purses, but the makeup bags are really cute.

Sooooooo many people at my school have Veras, including many of my sisters. Some are cute... but I think I caught on to the trend a little too late, because now that everyone has one, I definitely don't want one. Although if I was going to get one, it would be one of the newer patterns, it's like a pink stripe?

BTW, gotta love all the fashion topics in Chit Chat tonight

I LOVE VERA!!!!!!! OMG I have so much Vera, I dont' even know where to start listing it all. But my favorite pieces (all in the just recently discontinued black w/roses) are my makeup case and my huge tote bag! Someone is going to the For Friends store this week to buy more! Yay!
And to the poor soul who wouldn't be caught dead in them, I'm so sorry you feel that way. But I love mine!

Man, those things are DESIGNER?!?! I thought that the people who had them were carrying around their Maw-Maw's last quilting project.

My version of prep is my monogrammed Boat and Toat bag as a purse/carryall.

Maybe this thread just heightened my awareness of Vera stuff.... but geez, I swear i've seen a ton of girls carrying Vera bags today at the law school.

Might be bringing them out more b/c it's spring... they seem to be a more springy kind of bag.

But they're everywhere!!!!!

I've never even seen those before. The silk ones are kind of cute, but not really my style.
