AOII will move into a swing house after recruitment (the original AGD house/now swing house is now too small to rush girls out of) the AOII house will be torn down after recruitment.
No word on Theta's housing situation, they are the only chapter who hasn't released a rendering for a new house, but I'm sure one is in the works! It is assumed they will build when DZ builds (after ZTA, Pi Phi and AOII are finished).
in regards to new chapters building. The plan at one point was to tear down Barnard Hall (which is across from Tutwiler and next to Gamma Phi) and the original ADPi house/swing house and that be two lots....which would be perfect Sigma Kappa and Alpha Xi.

So Alpha Omicron Pi has released an image of their new house? Just curious, is there any place I could find a picture of it? I've seen a picture of the proposed new Delta Zeta and Pi Beta Phi houses, but I've looked all over and can't find a picture of the proposed new AOPi house. I saw that Barganier Davis Sims are the architects for their new house, but I can't find an image on their website. A young lady in my Sunday School class was an AOPi and it would be nice if I could show her a picture of it.

It's on a board in front of the house now. Someone on Facebook had a photo of 2 cute girls with the sign.

I think it's a tutoring center or something now. They'll probably take down Barnard Hall before it.
FYI, with parties about to end today, I've heard some way more reasonable numbers.
No shows, no payments of registration fees, PNMs who are at another school, those who took one look and chickened out, and those who just wanted to move in early to party or get away from parents.....all subtracted....it's more like 2674, not north of 2800.

I have a rec girl (a young woman I've mentored extensively) going through at Alabama, so I'll be anxious to hear from her how it's going.

Women who were admitted to Alabama and other schools who signed up
for recruitment but then decided to attend another school and so didn't
show up for Alabama's recruitment. That accounts for some of the drop
in PNM numbers.

Registration begins May 1 and continues through Aug. 1, and then if they forgot they can register at the opening Convocation (Friday night before recruitment begins).
Right, maybe they register but never pay the fee. They wind up going somewhere else. They move in, take one look, and chicken out. They move in, tell mom and dad they're going to rush, but they're really there for the parties.
Lots of reasons.
How it's going: it's 10 a.m. and it's already raining. Thank God (and I mean that) it's cooler because of the rain....at least for the moment. As the sun climbs, it will get warmer and WAY more humid. Typical August weather in Tuscaloosa.
Today is the second day of ice water teas/AKA first round. Sororities host 26 parties over 2 days; PNMs go to all 16 participating sororities.
Tonight the PNMs will rank, and the sororities will submit their first release figures.
PNMs will get their party lists for the day in the morning.

In case anyone is wondering, among all the rain delays, fire alarms, etc that have occurred, the biggest snafu has occurred today. Recruitment has been put on hold because of a computer glitch. This is NOT a rumor-- all upperclassmen had to go to the exec tent because some were given incorrect schedules. Some girls were also released that were not supposed to be. This was confirmed by the rho chis. The schedule is now 2 hrs and 40 minutes behind.

Well it's a good thing Bama's rush isn't that big. I'm sure they can change gears quickly. Or just go manual. LOL.
