Also saw that, HC on Facebook.

Sadly, we had to put our sweet boy, Peanut, down last Friday. He was 18.5 and his kidneys had shriveled up. He'd been telling us good-bye, but we kept holding out hope. I'm still not over it, nor will I ever be. We buried him with two frogs of our daughter's he loved to carry around the house. In spring, we'll plant something that blooms orange. He was the sweetest kitty ever. He was a long haired orange tabby. He loved everyone.

We lost our Chestnut (at 18--she was my kitty before marriage) due to kidney issues too and planted a white hydrangea over her grave. She had a fluffy white belly so we sought a fluffy white bloom. We still have P's sister and she's thriving. I wonder if she misses him. They've always been together. :'(

NEW ARRIVALS! We've got two grumpy cats looking for their forever homes. They are bonded sisters, Princess and Blizzard, about 2 years old, declawed and must be adopted together! They are also known as Persian Exotic Shorthair Mixes with beautiful flame point markings. If you are interested in adopting both of these kitties, please go to our website, www.forsythpets.org and fill out an application today or call the shelter for more info! Sorry about the size...

The kittehs have been adopted!!

Now back to our regular programming...

Have you found Hannah Shaw aka "The Kitten Lady?" She is a kitten rescuer/foster/educator now based in San Diego, CA though she'd previously been in Washington D.C. For anyone old enough to remember the band Styx and Damn Yankees, she's the daughter of guitarist Tommy Shaw.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5V...4lu_WCx7hE0PZA

In addition to videos of her rescue/fostering work she also shares how to videos and webinars on kitten care. Prior to COVID 19 she did travel to give seminars.

I've found her videos to be useful since a kitten was hand delivered to our door about two and a half weeks ago. One month ago our elderly Ginger went missing. About a month after our previous cat had died, Ginger came into our lives. That was 13 years ago. She was a year old stray who followed my children and I home from school one afternoon. Two weeks after Ginger went missing, a neighbor discovered a kitten abandoned in his backyard. After two hours when the mother didn't return, he came to our home with the six week old kitten. Our vet checked her out, gave her a deworming and kitten flea topical. My daughter and I spent two days flea combing her. We named her Cleo. She's now a very active 8 week old but she loves to snuggle in our laps and sleep.

I've loved her for some time - had not idea she was Tommy Shaw's daughter!

I have two cats I got as feral kittens - found on the porch of a trailer in the woods. Jiji, my black cat, and Calcifer, my tortoise shell, look to be siblings with different dads. They have gone from spicy feral kittens (about 5 - 6 weeks old when I got them) to being very cuddly, affectionate cats.

So happy that you were able to socialize your feral kittens!

I found myself comparing photos of Hannah and her father Tommy. IMO there is a real resemblance.

When Cleo made her dramatic entrance into our lives, I was concerned that she was a feral and would I be able to socialize her. Her first 18 hours were filled with hisses and spitting, but she never tried to bite or scratch. When I was up at 4am her first day with us, she was purring in my lap. I realized then that she had just been terrified as her entire world had turned upside down in less than a day. She's a very active 8 week old now but loves her cuddle time.

I haven't had much kitty love since moving here. I think I need to visit a shelter or something. Can't own one (is a cat ever truly owned?!) but I could surely love on one!

Our little Cleo is now the proud owner of her own cat tree. I am shamelessly spoiling her.

I hope Cleo enjoys many contented, sleepy hours in her new tree! When we adopted our current cat, my sister who lives eight hours away AND HAS NEVER HAD A CAT [or for that matter any pet] bought our cat a huge, expensive cat tree "just because"...not because my sister likes me in particular, she just wanted kitty to have one.

Cats love to climb and to have something to scratch their claws on. Does Cleo's new tree allow for claw scratching too?
