Such a good actor - and not a bad vocalist! Like many others, I loved his Captain Von Trapp role the most. May his memory be eternal.

So loved him and all the stories from filming The Sound of Music, both from him and from other actors and producers (did you know that the opening scene with Julie Andrews twirling in the Alps was actually filmed after a heavy rain and in Switzerland, not Austria?!), they had a hard time keeping Julie "upright" due to the heavy wind caused by the helicopter carrying the camera guys!

I was six years old when the movie came out and I remember my family and I going from our tiny town in Mississippi to the theater (as it was called back in the day) in Jackson to watch the movie....we were dressed up like going to church! Never tire of watching it, what a great cast and so many memorable scenes.
