Talking Jump the Shark

http://www.jumptheshark.com Is a great site! You can go there and vote on television shows' moment of decline. The name came from Happy Days, BTW.

So, when did you realize your favorite show (or least favorite show) jump the shark?

FAV: I said "Vengeance Unlimited" never had a chance to jump the shark, because they pulled the plug too quickly.

I can't limit my least fav to one.

Other: I said "Friends" jumped the shark when Ross and Rachel got together, and really hit the dirt when Monica and Chandler got together.

This is incredibly obscure but those of you who are addicted to Nick at Nite like I am might know what I am talking about. One of my all time favorite shows is the Brady Bunch and I think it jumped the shark when they introduced Cousin Oliver into the cast. Actually, I think it DID die shortly thereafter

Aaah! I love the Brady Bunch. I'm all into the trivia even!

Did you see on Millionare a few weeks ago, the million dollar question was "What was Carol Brady's maiden name?"

I was screaming the answer at the TV like a lunatic, going "this is a million dollar question? that's way too easy!"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

As a MASH fan, this site is cracking me up. I agree that the series lost its bite after BJ grew that hideous mustache.

Carol Brady's maiden name was "Martin", right? Another Brady tidbit; Florence Henderson is a Delta Zeta!

That was one of the choices, but its not it! Martin is the name of her first husband. Tyler is her maiden name.

That makes her Carol Ann Tyler Martin Brady.

I have a book called Bradymania that talks about all this!

Juniorgrrl! At the risk of sounding like a complete and total geek, could you tell me which episode you found that out in? That's a good piece of trivia!

Its in the book. I don't know if its in any episode. It might be in the pilot (the wedding episode)

My aunts and I have a game where we try to guess the episode within the first few seconds - usually we can guess it!

I'm such a dork, but Brady trivia is just one of my wierd secret passions

I am also a Brady Bunch addict. You'll find me in front of the TV watching Nick at Nite--first the Brady Bunch, then Diffrent Strokes and then the Facts of Life. It's funny how the theme song can get stuck in your head for the whole day.

It all started when I was in the hospital a lot as a kid. Brady Bunch aired every morning at 10...my friends love to try and stump me with Brady Bunch trivia...but so far they haven't been successful!

I too saw the Millionare episode. I got the question right and my mom got it wrong!

Cousin Oliver was a real jinx to the show after all!

BTW, this summer I'm taking an "America's Television History" course (to compliment my Viva Las Vegas! seminar last semester) and you can bet that I'll be doing my midterm paper on the Bradys.

Cool

Oooh! That sounds so awesome!

I know at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, you can get a degree in pop culture studies. That's something I would love to do - I'm a total pop culture junkie. But I specialize in the Bradys.

Hit me with some trivia...see if we can stump each other

Well the site has that special category where adding a new adorable kid is always an indicator of "Jumping the shark."

I still think it was when the Bradys went to Hawaii that they jumped the shark. That tiki subtext was so corny.
