1. This all depends. Are the events you're going to invite only or open to everyone? If they're invite only, there's nothing wrong with saying that you really would like to be a sister. If it's open to everyone, something along the lines of "I feel really comfortable here" is more appropriate.

2. BE YOURSELF. COB is much more relaxed (or should be) - go with that. Compliment the sisters - I don't mean empty compliments, but if someone strikes you as the most hilarious thing since Tina Fey or you really like her shoes, say so.

3. This varies from school to school, chapter to chapter, and situation to situation. If a chapter only has room for 2 girls it's really unlikely they're going to have a ton of events.

4. If this is something this sorority does regularly - it sounds like it's a lameass way of saying "we're not interested in you" without actually telling you. Forget them.

Be sure to contact your Greek Life office and ask them how to register for informal recruitment.

Even so, I think you should contact the Greek Life office, just to make sure you are following proper protocol.
Good luck!

If they personally invited you to an open event, IMO that is a good sign. Good luck!

COB can work in favor of both the sorority and the PNM. The events are probably much longer, giving everyone a chance to meet more than just a handful of people. Some people really thrive in a more relaxed setting.

That being said, rejection might sting a bit more since you will likely have met more women and feel a stronger "bond" with them.

Good luck, talk to as many people as you can, and just be open and friendly (but not crazy enthusiastic, lol).
