When police officers leave all of their mics off, one can assume there was a reason to do it. And the planting of the drugs.... no jury will convict. These guys belong in prison.

He has no criminal record, but how would the jury know about the drugs being planted or not being planted if it's the police officers words against his? I'm asking because in some cases the jury can make some really awkward decisions that lead to wrong conclusions.

All of the officers wouldn't have switched off their mics if they didn't have anything to hide. And I've known cops to charge suspects and plant evidence to cover up the officer's own wrongdoing. You're right.. juries are fickle...

Makes sense. There should be some kind of psych evaluation every 6 months to a year for police officers because it's getting out of hand. Not only that, but the bad officers are making it difficult for the fair, good officers.

Shit just got real.

Quote:
The police officer caught on tape brutally beating an unarmed Michigan man goes by the name “Robocop.” He’s been sued “at least four times for excessive use of force, cost the city more than $1 million in legal settlements and received more citizen complaints than any other in the city,” according to an LA Times 2003 report. One million-dollar payout was over the fatal shooting of an unarmed man during a traffic stop in 1996. And he faced federal corruption charges but was later acquitted for a three-year corruption campaign that included false accusations of drug possession very similar to those against Floyd Dent.
What a terrible department that it would continue to employ filth like this. Departments which continue to employ officers after those officers just one time are found to have used excessive force... but 4 times? Damages in excess of one million dollars? I always like to think there might be a reasonable explanation for all of this, but what could it be?

So much liability on the part of the city to keep this officer on the payroll. Why is this person still an officer?
