I saw True Grit - LOVED it, and think the girl should win Best Supporting. I also saw Black Swan, and didn't like it. I think if you were totally into ballet, or into art films for art films' sake, then you might also like it. And if you're into some girl on girl, you will also have a few moments of pleasure. But other than that, I think it was very overrated.

I'm hoping to see The King's Speech today/tonight actually in the theatre which will be PACKED with Brits. At least they'll be polite and there won't be an cell-phone chatter during the movie, a huge annoyance here.

Oh, I recently saw I'm Still Here starring/about Joaquin Phoenix. Anyone seen it? I personally think he set out to make a movie as a goof but we watch him unravel in the making of the movie over the course of what I think is 2 or 3 years. It was very depressing and didn't shed any light, which was frustrating. If it WAS just a goof (like Andy Kauffman kind of stuff), it is not at all funny, and if it really is showing his life unravel in such a serious way, it is positively disgusting that his family allowed it to be made and disseminated.

Another documentary I loved was The Art of the Steal about the forced relocation of the Barnes art collection in Philly. My husband and I argued about this a lot. He thinks Barnes' wishes should have been maintained no matter what. I think the reality of the world is the art is so important that it should be available for public viewing, even though the people involved are cretins. I'm sure there are at least 2 valid sides to this story, and I'd like to learn more.

Hmmm....I'm going to find this on Apple TV when it comes out on video. Sounds interesting. Thanks for the review. I agree about True Grit, and I really enjoyed The Kings Speech, though it was rather slow at times. Hope you enjoy.

I loved The King's Speech. My Best Picture vote has changed, and best actor HAS to be Colin Firth.

The Rite was really good. I didn't know it was based on true events. Anthony Hopkins was really good. His acting is incredible. I'll give it 4 stars. The reason why I didn't give it 5 was because I'm not sure how accurate it was.

I saw "The Mechanic" today. I give it 3 stars. It was just too predictable.

"The Roommate". I give it a big fat ZERO. I gave it 0 stars because it was the dumbest, most boring movie ever. It was just a bunch of people slashing each other with box cutters. "Some guy" I know, has bad taste in movies. lol

Exorcism is very accurate, but i'm pretty sure that's not what you meant. I completely agree with you that Anthony Hopkins was amazing in the movie. The only time I was creeped out was during his possession (nit a spoiler since they give it away in the previews).

But I dont think it was a good movie. I'd give it a 2. I was going in expecting to be creeped out...in a more psychological way. I didn't feel that way. It was real slow going and the end went too quickly. The only thing that did save the movie was Anthony Hopkins.

If you really wanna see it, wait til it comes out on DVD.

If people like exorcism movies, i recommend Possessed. It's based on a non-fiction book, the story of the boy whose story was fictionalized into The Exorcist. It's very accurate in both its ritual and in the real life events that occurred. Whether you believe in exorcism or not, something very strange happened with this boy. The movie sucked me in and so did the book (also called Possessed.)

I wanna see Sanctum. It's by James Cameron, so it's probably worth seeing. I wish it wasn't in 3D, though.

LOL that's just flat out wrong. I like horror movies. I didn't think it was a good movie, but it wasn't a bad one, either. C'mon lady, you have to admit, it had a little suspense in it, you gotta give it that.

Okay, where was the suspense? I still can't believe you liked that movie. Well, kind of. That movie sucked so bad, and it's usually the really dumb movies that are extra short in time. This one was almost two hours long. A dumb movie + two hours long = "I'm going to explode".

I saw it. I went to an earlier showing. I give it a total of 5 stars out of 5. Even the 3D was perfect, and I hate 3D movies. The 3D actually worked in this one. I mean, I even blinked a few times trying to keep the water out of my eyes. Then during the movie my imagination ran wild as it usually does in movies like that. I asked myself, "what if the Earth's crust were thicker?" Then, I started thinking about the evolution of the Earth's interior. It's amazing how this all works. I loved the movie. It was by far one of the best movies I've seen. I'm not sure why it got such poor ratings, though.

5 STARS.

"Company Men" was okay, I guess. It was kind of slow. Like, I mean, it's just that it wasn't really anything that kept me in suspense. I'll give it 3 stars out of 5.
