Question on Pageants

Hi. I was wondering about resumes for recruitment. Would it be appropriate to include pageant experience and awards? I'm not talking about Toddlers & Tiaras type pageants, but national scholarship programs that have been around for generations. Many people are put off by pageants but I thought it might be something sororities might understand. Time involved can rival school activities and there is overlap with philanthropy. What do you think?

Certainly - esp if you placed or won a category.

Even women like me who can be opposed to beauty above substance are impressed by pageant experience once we have the whole thing explained. One of my friends in college was a Miss America finalist and I was appalled she did that crap until she explained that it was paying for college. And what was required for talent, general knowledge, etc. In short, you don't have to worry that by putting it on your resume you're saying "I'm pretty and here's your proof."
