While I didn't do a rec for her (she insisted that UofMichigan didn't need them, and there's no ADPi chapter there anyhow), my sil's granddaughter is rushing there this week.
FWIW, SIL is 12 years older than I, and her granddaughter is actually her step-granddaughter, as my BIL is 8 years older than my SIL. Got that? I married into a family bush, not a family tree!

ADPi has an active chapter at Michigan...my freshman roommate joined ADPi as an in-house legacy (she was a double legacy...their mom was also an ADPi).

...And the question has been answered! SIL's granddaughter has gone Gamma Phi Beta!
ETA: She did go to Michigan State, not the University of Michigan.

Woo hoo! BTW, my freshman roommate's 4 aunts were all Gamma Phi Betas, a couple of whom I knew because we were hometown friends who roomed together. I really tried to get her to go Gamma Phi, too, but with her mom and in-house sister being ADPis, it was a lost cause.

I'm happy to announce that my cousin's daughter received a bid from Chi Omega at Kent State! They were not her first choice, and she is still ecstatic! She said they were the most genuine group of ladies throughout recruitment and she could not be happier.

My goddaughter (her mom is my Chi O big sis) preffed Chi O and Theta at UC Davis.
She got her bid Sunday morning and is now a ...
Theta
Her mother & I heard in our ears the Price Is Right sound for the losing contestants.
Her mom & I are a little sad, but GD (goddaughter) is happy as a clam (or, I guess, a kite).
All the owl items I had been stock-piling will continue to be stock-piled -- hopefully for GD2.
But now GD2 will be a triple-threat legacy: Chi O, Kappa, Theta.

LOL...my cousin married a Gamma Phi. Their daughter just preffed Gamma Phi and Kappa...and went Kappa. I think she heard that sound too!

My mother's cousin married a Gamma Phi, and I think I've mentioned a certain photo of her from her college years. She went to UCLA (I think), and there's a photo of her and some of her sisters all sitting on the wings of a plane. It's a really cool photo, and I think it may have appeared in a Gamma Phi publication. Her maiden name is Louise Coffman (?) - she would be 95? We lost touch after my mother died.
But it was a wonderful photo!
This isn't the photo, as they truly were sitting on the wings, but is still Gamma Phis with a plane:

That looks like the photo that appears in publications/historical references to the millions of dollars in war bonds sold by Gamma Phis during WWII.
