Smile Any good fundraising suggestions??

Hello fellow greeks...

I am relatively new to the forum in regards to posting. This is one of the few posts I have made but I have been reading most posts for quite a while now.

My chapter size is currently around 40 men and we are looking for another fundraiser for the chapter to do. We currently have our own concession stand at Gillette Stadium and have also done a fundraiser with campus fundraising.

Any suggestions that you may have would be greatly appreciated.

hey james, this is my first post too-

well, it all depends on how much money you want to make- my sorority filled a kiddie pool with yellow jello and charged people to wrestle in it- it was a cold day though, so we didnt make much. original plan was to charge people to watch us wrestle, but it was so very cold...

so anyway, thats a fun idea, you could say "when we have $100 in this box, two of our foxiest brothers will wrestle in this jello" or something like that.

hope that helps a little, remember you boys can always trade off on your good looks

hey yeah, thats a good idea too- when i did fundraising for my literary magazine in high school, i went to sam's club and bought those big packages of candy bars and sent all my people out selling them for a dollar each- makes a nice profit, something like 300%

gah, why do i always mistype something? thank goodness for the edit button.

here's something else my literary magazine did: get together bands from the school and/or community, record a song or two from each (you can rent some equipment and record pretty much anywhere, there might even be a place on your campus where you can borrow equipment for free), and there are places that will burn a master cd into however many copies you want, then just sell the cd for like $8 or whatever amount you figure out.

it's fun, but it kind of depends on how many copies of the cd you make and you campus communities interest in music as to the profit you will make.

My best advice is to look to a local amusement park for fundraisers.

I set up my chapter at Cedar Point . We work concessions and get a percentage of the sales. The best part is that we work half days, 2 shifts, and get free admission to the park for the down time. Cedar Point also plans for the elements. They figure out if we would have made more through commission or hourly wages, and pay us the greater of the two. Currently, we're on track to clear around $6,000 this year from this fundraiser alone.

If anyone is close to the Sandusky, OH area, or within a half day's drive (Cedar Point does have housing available) email me, and I'll hook you up with the right contacts and answer any more questions you might have.

You can also work concessions or clean up at most stadiums/arena or speedways/raceways.
