Info on Lewis School for Girls?

The Wikipedia page about Delta Gamma is pretty good, but one thing that stands out there is that the "Lewis School for Girls" is a redlink, which means that no article exists for the school.

Any suggestions for where I can get information on the school beyond location and that Delta Gamma was founded there? For example, when did it start, when did it close (or was it merged with U of Mississippi and if so when).

Lewis School info

I am involved with another GLO at Ole Miss. The DG chapter there might have some info. However, they are in the middle of a massive renovation so they might not have access to anything right now. I would suggest looking on their website and contacting them. There is a historical marker regarding the founding of DG on University Avenue. If I get a chance next time I'm there I'll snap a pic and post it for you.

Some historical accounts refer to Lewis School as Oxford Female Institute. Don Harrison Doyle's Faulkner's County mentions it by that name but doesn't provide any specifics.

You might check with Delta Gamma's Executive Offices. I know we have a lot of info in the archives.
