I actually really like the understated, engraved letters, but they're obviously not ideal from the standpoint of recognizablity. Let's hope it doesn't slide away before they get to enjoy it!

I just found a beautiful picture of the new Kappa house at Santa Clara!!
It's really pretty inside, too. I totally helped with the landscaping in the front! Hehe. I can't wait til the irises grow up!

These houses are gorgeous. Makes me wish we had houses on our campus.

Yeah, but with houses come rules. Lots and lots of rules! My chapter didn't have a house, but it would've been nice to at least have a regular place for meetings.

University of Florida Delta Delta Delta Chapter House
Only part of the house is shown in this photo. The chapter house design just won two architectural awards. Fingerprint access is the first in Greek houses.

Some information about the design of the Tri Delta chapter house at Univ. of Florida
Some of you may be interested in the design of the Florida chapter house. It is about 25,000 sq. feet. It houses 72 women in suite type rooms with adjoining study rooms.
Important common rooms are parlor with grand piano, media room and library. Safety and security were important in the design. It is the first Greek house to have fingerprint access. It meets all safety and fire regulations.
The chapter house has handicap access to all three floors as there is an elevator.
This chapter was established at Univ. of Florida one year after the college was opened. It was founded in 1948 and is now 61 years on campus.

I'd like to respectfully disagree about the fingerprint access. I know of at least one DG house in the NE that had that a few years ago....and I think one in the south does as well....I'd have to check to be sure which ones but I know the one in the NE had issues during the winter with the pad freezing because it was mounted outside and they finally changed it out.

Security Access
These were highlights from the architect's description. Perhaps the security fingerprint system has some new feature. I am happy to read other sorority chapter houses have the newest and safest security systems available.
