The Phoenix looks like he has a giant dingleberry hanging out of his butt.

These actually could have been semi-passable if they would have just done the colors and put TINY sorority letters by the back seam on the top of the shoe.

Don't be so happy, darlin'. They've been licensed for all NPC groups. I can't hardly wait to see what they do for Chi O and all the rest of us who've not been "lucky" enough yet to have our prototypes photographed and posted. But it's coming, I'm sure.

And, in the spirit of equal treatment, I propose this for our fraternity men. The possibilities are endless. Mystic Cat, care to weigh in?

I'm having a really hard time believing that they are licensed by the sororities. None of these "emblems" are official crests, are they? It looks like they have some official logos on their team shoes, but the schools are very limited. That "Phi Delta" shoe looks like a thwarted attempt at the Phi Mu quatrefoil. I could see these shoes becoming the target of a cease and desist request.

OH BOY!! I do love a man in a skirt, especially on a windy day

I refuse to believe that these hideous shoes have been legitimately licensed by all 26 NPCs. I have more faith that our Nationals wouldn't stoop to this for a buck.

I'm not sure if each individual product has to be licensed, but the official Greek Licensing website shows that most (I did double check and a few sororities are not licensed...I believe AEPhi and SDT may be the only ones who aren't) NPC sororities have Herstar listed as a licensed vendor.

I have absolutely no idea who thought it was a good idea, unless Herstar grossly misrepresented their products. Especially in Sigma Kappa's case, I can't see the shoes being okay. Also, apparently ballet flats may be on their way as well.

I sent an email to NHQ last night with the link and picture. This has really made me wonder how a vendor gets approved.

The football ones popped up as an ad on Facebook for me months ago and I couldn't believe something could be so ugly. Well, they +1'ed themselves with these hideous things. I shudder to imagine what they could do with azure blue and white

This. I actually don't HATE the idea, I just don't think it was, um, executed well.

I seriously doubt (inter)national offices had any input on this at all. The whole point of Greek Licensing is to have an agent of the GLOs -- Affinity Marketing -- deal with the vendors and send the royalties to the GLOs so HQs don't have to worry with it. The licenses are good for a year, so my guess is that GLOs can request the license not be renewed, but can't do much else unless these violate the terms of the agreements with the vendors.

No, no, no. (Or nae, nae, nae.) Please do not compare kilts, even utilikilts, with CFM shoes. Thank you.

How about these?

^^^ You win. Again. It's okay, I'm not gonna think about it anymore. At all. Ever. There is no appropriate smiley to put here, at least not on my end.

ETA: not a good idea to tug on Superman's cape!

I sent HERSTAR an email last night asking them to switch the letters around on the Sigma Kappa shoes, as they are clearly intended for Kappa Sigma. I forgot to mention that Kappa Sigma might not be a female organization. Whoops!
