I read a lot of YA fiction for my job (high school English teacher) - currently reading Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley and Wonder by R.J. Palacio. They're both really good! My students rave about the Mortal Instruments series but I just can't get into most fantasy novels.
One of my coworkers raved to me about The Girl on the Train and I was so disappointed when I read it. I kept waiting for some HUGE twist and it just fell flat for me. I think my expectations were probably too high.
For those of you who mentioned liking the Quiverfull kinds of books a few pages back - I read Devoted by Jennifer Mathieu this summer, about a teenage girl trying to find her way out of a Quiverfull family and community, and it was excellent.

Read "Girl on The Train" and had these HUGE expectations and though it was good, not the epic I expected.

Currently re-reading "The Book of Night With Moon" by Diane Duane.
The main characters are cats. I'm a cat person. 'nough said.

I'm a cat lady too. Our daughter loves the Warriors young adult series which is about feral cat clans. >^..^<

Reading Linda Fairstein's latest paperback, Terminal City. I love the bits of New York trivia she throws into each of her books.

I havent read alot of fiction lately. I read Thou Shall Prosper by Rabbi Daniel Lapin (and subsequently bought it on audible so I could relisten to it because there was so much good information to re-read/listen to).
I'm currently reading Adam Hamilton's "Making Sense of the Bible." I've served as lay delegate for my church to annual conference for the last 2 years and have been (one of) the youngest non-clergy people in attendance and have left feeling devastated and defeated the last 2 years. I have one more year to serve as delegate and through the course of serving, this book came up, so I figured I needed to check it out. I've done some of his bible studies and I'm halfway through the book. LOVE IT so far. http://www.amazon.com/Making-Sense-B...dp/006223496X/ in case you're interested.
I started reading Necessary Endings by Henry Cloud but haven't finished it.
