Girls Gone Wild (Topic continued from Playboy Thread in Greek Life)

Ok, the ladies were asked what do we think about the 'Girls Gone Wild' videos? I have one word for what I think about it....FAKE! but to me its more funny then anything. I havent seen it (and probably never would) but when I see the commercials for it a few things come to mind...
1) There is no college in its right mind that would let a camera crew film this in their dorms.Why? Its called a big fat sexual harassment lawssuit. We know this isnt just some little video camera thats going in.
2) What chapters of a fraternity would actually let people video tape this stuff knowing their letters are going to be seen somewhere? (Then again some sororities and faretrnities have posted many things on the net that I thought I'd never see) Also Ive been to some crazy fraternity parties and none of that stuff ever happens or was I just oblivous to it?
3):rollseyes: What person in a showersees a camera , giggles and goes "How long have you been there?"

Some of these girls dont look like they have anything to be going wild about anyways. If its real (I somewhat doubt) then hey do what you have to do. Im not gonna lie and say I dont know people who wouldnt do some of the things like flashing (my friends and I did it once all in a good night of fun and it was a dare) and kissing another girl.
It is what it advertises, a cheap video thats probably not even worth the 9.99 you pay for it, thats probably worth a good hour of laughter more than anything else.

My ex forked over his $15 + S&H (I think that's what it cost) for GIRLS GONE WILD and SORORITY GIRLS GONE WILD.

Not that I'm trying to be a critic or anything...but if I were a guy and I expected to see hot and heavy action, I'd think that these videos were a ripoff.

I've seen the videos and it's nothing but Mardi Gras boobie flashing with an occasional shot of girls kissing each other. Throw in some butt grabbing and rubbing with some alcohol and there you go folx...GIRLS GONE WILD.

SORORITY GIRLS GONE WILD is basically the same thing. I watched the part in its entirety because I wanted to see if any of the drunken girls would reveal their GLO affiliation. Thankfully, I didn't see anyone in their letters...but one girl did admit that she's an XYZ. Sorry, I don't think it'd be appropriate to reveal which GLO she belongs to.

Just my 2 cents.

well the girls are nice to look at, but the videos are like boring porn...
sae at my school was supposed to have them at their big party this fall, but they backed out.

I actually heard a radio interview with the guys who do the tapes, and when it started, it was just them filming random people. Like Mardi Gras, they would just go up to girls and say that it was for their own video thing, and the girls would just flash them. And sometimes they wouldn't even have to ask... Here's my question: what happens if a girl watches the tape and sees herself on it? Did she technically give them permission to film her? Even though they said it was for a home movie, was that still permission? and what about judgment being impared? Just some questions...

If it isn't a signed release form, I am pretty sure it isn't permission even if they verbally say yes because there is no proof of them agreeing.

I agree with Sandy. I havent seen them but they sound like they're low budget/trash porn. If your going to do something like that at least do it right and do it all the way. Then they wouldnt have had to deal with this legal mess. Bow chicka wow wow....

Look at that Pro Cheerleading squad in PA(it was on the today show last week). I forget what team it was but man is that a crazy situation. 27 NFL teams being sued for being a peeping tom.

The Sorority Sweetheart thing tempted me to buy the videos, so I could see what letters were in it.

But even if they are real, and the shots were taken from Mardi Gras....umm, girls get a life! I think it is so "white trash" to do things like that. (Reiterated from the "Playboy" thread) I'm sure these girls would defend their actions as "but I was drunk and having fun!" BLEH!...... If you need to be that drunk, you suck. If you need to show off your boobies, you're stupid and no guy would take you home to his parents. If you like that attention, you need to take a course in gaining self-esteem.

Ok, that's all for now. Sorry I'm so....blunt. It just disturbs me when I see women who have no respect for the wonderful creatures they are.

Yeah, I agree with the "trash" sentiment. You all know from the other thread how I feel about Playboy, but this is a lot different to me. I agree that a lot of it is fake. Unfortunately there are so many girls out there desperate for attention that if some guy came in with a camera and said "Hey girls, I'm filming for 'Girls Gone Wild 3' so let's see what you got!!" you know that there would be a bunch of them trying to get themselves noticed. While I would certainly be willing to pose for Playboy, there is no way in Hell I would be caught dead flashing my boobs for some stupid cheap plastic beads or anything like that. Look at those broads on the MTV Spring Break!!!! It has made me pretty sure that I will never let my kid go on Spring Break on my dollar!!! I know that there are going to be some people who say, "What's the difference?" But there is a difference, at least to me. I sure hope my daughter is never so lacking in self-esteem that she starts flashing herself all over town in hopes of getting some male approval.

ok, im not trying to start something here, but are we saying that people who have flash lack self-esteem???
If thats the case, then I guess I do. And many girls who i thought had the highest amounts of it do. Its funny though cuz I always considered my self to have a very high self esteem. I didnt think I was doing it for a males approval, but it was just to have fun and get a rush.
My point is...why is it (and I realize ive done this too) that when people do something that we wouldnt do ourselves, we say they have low self esteem?
And whats up with the "white trash" comments lately? Isnt it get as trashy to dish that saying out? Im in the stage of my life where im beginning to think its stupid to judge people just because you wouldnt do something that they did (some little that is). These girls are having a lil bit of fun, and if they get caught on camera, well thats on them and they need to deal with it (of course as someone said Im not going to be crying a river for them). What it all comes down to is that we all have our own definition of what things are cool and not cool, but we shouldnt judge each other on it. You're seeing the outside not the inside.
