That poem is one of my favorites. I wrote a paper on it during my last semester in college, and I remember the professor told me how much he enjoyed it when he returned it to me. Thanks for bringing back a nice memory.

Beta Sigma Phi, and the P.E.O. Sisterhood are two "sororities" for adults.
It is not the same experience at all - not that it's less or more than the college level - it's just an entirely different experience.
I'm a member of an AAUW branch that has that same sort of feeling - more sisters than members. I've seen League of Women Voters groups along the same pattern. Even my old bunco group had that same sisterhood feeling.

We all want to belong to something bigger, stronger. and more enveloping than ourselves alone.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

PS In my life I almost always took the less traveled road. Glad of it, too.
Ah, another Frost fan! My personal favorite;

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

But seriously, OP, you've been given great advice. Hope you can make the best selection for you. Best wishes!

I'm wondering what you are seeking if you want to join a group of young women who are at vastly different stages of life than you. Personally I can't imagine a 30-something in my sorority if I'm an 18, 20 or even 21 year old pledge - that's not to say it might not work somewhere, but I think it would have to be a very urban campus with a different sorority experience.

Is your desire to be part of a greater group? Is it specifically belonging to a Greek organization? Not to sound discouraging, but at your age, I think a) you'll likely have a hard time getting invited back to parties and b) if you were to get a bid, you likely would be the only person older than a traditional member (meaning 18-22/23) so bonding with other members could be hard since you're just at such different stages of life.

You haven't said what type of school you're at and what their Greek organizations are like - do you know if sororities there have older members? Is it a commuter school where perhaps the structure is different than at a more traditional school?

Remember, chapters have required activities - chapter meetings, etc. How will you respond to being told "to do" certain things by a 20 or 21 year old officer? Will you be able to find common ground with the pledge members who are likely 18-19-20?

I'm always the first to say to anyone to go for it, but I would think long and hard about these things so that you can manage your expectations - both for rush and should you be lucky enough to get a bid.

Sounds like a reason to make a third path...
