Wake Forest Bid Day
Today, January 12th, is BID DAY at Wake Forest University. One of my friends is a Gamma Rho Chi, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get any details out of her today but I thought everyone should know! Best of Luck to Chi Omega, Delta Zeta(colony), Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Phi Mu and Pi Beta Phi and their new members today!

I have a friend of a friend that may pledge Phi Mu... I think she preffed there... I also have KD and Chi-O friends there, and my best friend in the world is a GDI there. When I'm not at college I live like 40 minutes away from Wake. I'm interested to hear how the DZ colonization went.

Quota was 47, and all but two groups made quota. DZ got 32 girls. If you want more details - pm me.
ETA - These numbers do not include snap bids.

I'm really surprised at the level of detail this article went into regarding the numbers/quota situation. I've never seen this type of detail before published outside the Greek community. Is this normal for other campus newspapers?

I was also surprised they used exact numbers. I've never seen this before.

I'm sorry my fellow sisters of Phi Mu didn't match quota, I hear they are a wonderful group and always get quality pledge classes. However, I am a little concerned that the numbers would be published in the school newspaper. It doesn't surprise me that Kappa Delta, Tri-Delta, Kappa, Pi Phi and Chi-O did well, they have for a # of years. Delta Zeta's colony has a strong start which is always good. Hopefully my Phi Mu girls can COB to the pledge class quota!

hey ladies-
didn't this happen in the fall? there was a webpage that had each sorority and the names of each girl they got. i think it was univ. of alabama or u of auburn? i think that was more shocking than this.
it made it more obvious how well (or not so well) chapters did.
i think it's ok to post results when chapters are close in #'s but if they're not, it's very inappropriate. how will they ever get rid of the (false) idea that they're not a good sorority?

It was University of Alabama. Had the GLO, the girl's name and hometown

auburn,too
Auburn also had the names and hometowns of each new member of every group listed.
It helped me see where the girls I wrote recs for pledged.

Our school newspaper publishes the number of women each house pledges... along with the percent increase/decrease in new member class size from the previous year. They do the same for fraternities.

At FSU, each sorority tends to take out an ad in the paper saying "We love our new pledge class!" and listing the girl's names... it's always fun to find out where horrible girls you rushed ended up, and where your rush crushes ended up.

Auburn used to--and may still--put out a post-rush booklet with group pictures, names, and home towns of the new PNMs. One of the fraternities did it as a fundraiser and the guys on campus snapped them up so they could see who they might want to ask out or check out the girls they'd been asked to blind-date. I'd be at the Fiji House and the guys would say, "Fix me up with THIS one!", pointing to a Pi Phi's picture.
