That is a great honor since AOII has only been on campus at Arkansas for 1 year.

Wow, I friend just sent me this link:

Of the 22 nominees for King and Queen (11 nominees for each), 21 are Greek!

All campus organizations can nominate a candidate for King and Queen. So, "Sponsored by" simply identifies the group that nominated the nominee, regardless of the group to which the nominee belongs. That's how KD, for instance, has four sisters on court, only one of whom is sponsored by KD (the other three are sponsored by other groups). Of course, sororities always nominate one of their own for Queen; fraternities always nominate a brother for King.

When I was rushing (yes, it was rush then), five of my future sisters were nominated; one by ADPi, the others were fraternty sweethearts.

This year, I don't believe any of the Homecoming Court ladies were Greek, but a few of the men were. There was a Sigma Nu, a Delt, and a Sigma Chi I think. The King and Queen ended up being non-Greek.

I was there for that game! I was elated even though I knew neither one of the candidates that won. I just "loved" the feeling when they were announced.
