I understand and didn't mean to be harsh. I married a GDI who I met weeks after I pledged my sorority. Sometimes it takes a few years to really get over a relationship. It seems though as I get older, I don't see a need to keep such things around. I prefer to focus on the present more. I do keep some cards and items that my now husband gave me when we were dating but I have also assisted my 94-year old grandmother in cleaning out some old pictures, etc. I just wouldn't want to have to explain to my kids and grandkids why I am hanging onto a lavaliere from an ex boyfriend who ended the relationship by cheating on me. The memories are in your head forever, I don't think that is necessary to keep a memento to re-live those memories.

Especially because there's the whole embarrassment factor added in with taking stuff back to the house. There were a few couples on my campus where the girl had to take back all the stuff and all she got was heckled. So much for the fraternity loving her!

Plain brown envelope addressed to HQ or campus house, an explanation note is not necessary. There is no reason to create drama by personally returning it.
