Okay, more about this skeleton thing please. I'm loving learning all this random stuff.

And I can't find when KD became a sorority, instead of a fraternity. In fact, I never knew it was one.

And don't worry Dani, we'll be good.

This photo is from Ordinary Miracles. You can see Charlie under the tree towards the left.

I can't find it in my early KD history books right now but some of the first initiates talk about it...sneaking around the school late at night, stealing Charlie from the science department and trying not to get caught. Charlie was there to make the atmosphere spooky.

Clearly this was all before they had any clue about what kind of standard ritual they wanted. It sounds like the early days were a lot of silly fun.

Okay, so we'll leave the fraternity/sorority question for a while.

New question: Who designed (and redesigned) our Kappa Delta Badge?

Great!!

Okay, so this isn't a trivia question but I'm curious about it (and everyone can easily join in).

All four of our founders were wonderful, but do you have a favorite? If so, why? Also, if you had to say you were most like one of them which one would it be?

I've always like Mary Sommerville Sparks the most. No real reason though. Perhaps I liked her picture in my Norman Shiled the best.

I always loved Julia Gardiner Tyler Wilson's life and family connections. To me it always made sense that she would be a founder of the sorority.

But as for who I'm most like, definitely Lenora. From being a writer and poet, to just someone who seems to want to make things happen.

LOL! Notice all the "space" around Charlie, & how the ladies are closer together on the right?

I'm betting that some of the members weren't too fond of Charlie & his caretaker.. (heehee- that probably would've been me, dragging around the skeleton for the fun of it!)

Oh come on, Cheryl! You KNOW there are several of us Groupers on here!

Besides, that was my trivia question in the Yahoogroup!

Rho Omega Phi was at Judson College.

Yes, you can see her kind, gentle nature just by looking at her.

Julia is my own favorite. She's made the most lasting impression on KD, from designing the badge to many other things which I won't mention. She was so creative and, at least to me, seemed a bit mischievious in her younger years. I would love to have known her!

I think I'm most like Lenora too. For some reason I've always felt a strong kinship with her.

When was the Kappa Delta Creed officially adopted and who wrote it?

Annie,

I knew that there were a lot of us on here...just waiting to see how long it would have taken to get the question answered.

General question: How many of you have actually seen an original badge? I had the privilege of seeing one at my initaition when one of the National VPs flew down for it.
