Cute Tri-Delta Story

I work weekends at a nursing home, and there's this sweet older lady named Elvira that is not allowed outside by herself because she forgets who she is and that she lives there and she wanders off. Last weekend I was redirecting her back to her room, when she started spouting off Greek letters. Then I realized that I had my homecoming shirt on that had ASA, Sigma Kappa and DSPhi on it. I asked her if she was in a sorority and she proudly replied "I'm a Delta Delta Delta". This cute old lady can barely remember who she is, or where she lives, but she remembers the Greek alphabet and that she's a Tri-Delta.

I just thought I'd share that with you, because I think that says wonderful things about Tri-Delta.

Good job ladies!!!

Thanks so much for sharing that story. I have heard similar stories like this about folks as they age. They can tell you everything they did as a child, in high school and as a newlywed, but don't remember anything about recent years. Obviously her Tri Delta membership was really meaningful to her if it is one of the things that is still with her. :-)

So I'm obviously not a Tri-Delta, but I think that is amazing and such a sweet story!

Re: Cute Tri-Delta Story

What a cute story...I love it that she said "I'm a Delta Delta Delta", not "I was a Delta Delta Delta".
