Was that a shoulder shrug or a shoulder shimmy?

There are campuses where the Greeks have always helped each other during pledging when it was legal and MIP. Gifts and whatever else it entails. That is not really to be confused with a nonmember being your spec (or even seriously considering themselves as having "made" someone who wasn't in their organization).

yes, but in DST you know that speshes have a greater meaning than that, especially in how they are designated. So I think we should refer to the others as something else, but not speshes.

WTF?

This is going to come off elitist or anti-Groove but all those Groove pics from a yearbook or what not do not belong in this thread especially since ain't nobody asked about Groove in this forum. This thread is to post pics of SELF with friends and LBs/LSs, etc. not pages from an ORG's history/yearbook so I am moving those to the Groove forum.

Carry on.

Simply put, functionally speaking it's an urban Black Spring Break.

I thought that was quite excessive. I was going to quote it, to be obnoxious.

I've heard of "freaknik" a while back. I knew a couple of classmates in high school who talked about going to them. But I never knew exactly what they were.

Nope. Some people just don't know what Freaknik is.

That event went to hell in the late 90's and only the late 20s/30s+ crowd talk about it as ever being something worth attending.

Kind of like how the Philly Greek went to hell. But Freaknik's descent was far worse.

Well then it migrated to Daytona Beach, Florida and became Black College Reunion...then just BCR ...now since BET took over it's Black Spring Break.
