Sonoma State

I think that the results for Sonoma State (California) maybe incorrect.

A while back LaneSig metioned on the the 2009/2010 Expansions/Colonies/Charters/Closures thread that Sonoma was open for expansion and I thought - Oh no our chapter didn't do well and they are going to expand. Then one day, I was on the National Facebook page and saw something about their 56 new members. If you check out the chapter web page, ( http://www.ssuagd.com/page.php?page_id=113016 ) they mention over 50 new members. So while I don't have any specific knowledge of this chapter, it seems this information may be wrong. All chapters at quota would make more sense for a Panhellenic that was looking to expand.

I'm curious which OSU this is? I assumed it was Ohio State, but the numbers seem too high.

Send a message via Yahoo to AZ-AlphaXi
Quota at Cal State San Marcos was 49. Both Alpha Xi Delta and Alpha Chi Omega took quota.

I'm assuming it is Oklahoma State because Phi Mu does not have a chapter at Ohio State. I know, it is confusing. It drives me nuts. As a Penn State alum, I never referred to Ohio State as OSU and now that I am in law school in Ohio, people all refer to Ohio State as OSU. It confused me too, at first.

As a west coaster, when I hear OSU I think Oregon State... but the chapters don't match up. A good reminder though that there are a lot of options for many of the common abbreviations!

The Theta numbers don't match up for any of the schools, but my guess would be Oklahoma State. Quota was 49 and Theta took 49.

This. Thank you.
My bad, I usually try to be better about that! I cut and pasted this from a PM I'd already written to irishpipes (but her inbox was full) and she knows I'm active with Oklahoma State.

As far as discrepancies in numbers, these are the official numbers from bid matching. Any bids given after bid day wouldn’t be included.

And according to the article, with talk of possibly bringing another sorority on campus, it would be amazing if the AEPhi Alpha Chapter would be able to recharter at Columbia/Barnard. Or AOII for that matter! One can hope.

Another option would be to bring another sorority onto campus. Since the IFC has 13 fraternities as compared to PHC’s 4 sororities, “there would definitely be room for it and support for it,” Loya said.

The Office of Residential Programs wrote in a statement that adding a fraternity or a sorority “would depend on a number of factors, which include student interest and demand as well as our ability to support (in numerous ways) additional organizations within this community.”

Last year, Columbia re-colonized an old fraternity that had died out, Sigma Alpha Mu.

The 2010 Recruitment Counselors will be hosting info sessions in all of the freshman residence halls (as well as one in McKay) starting this Tuesday in DRN and DRS. Feel free to go to any of the info sessions, even if it is not in your own residence hall.
