Should I Join a Frat at a small college

Hey Guys

I'm going to a small university next year and I was looking at their student activities page. They have a couple frats but I'm not sure if I should join. The one I'm looking at is Omega Delta Alpha. Do you think frats at small colleges are worth it?

There are pros and cons to everything. These are the questions I would ask myself:

1. Why am I interested in joining a fraternity-what do I hope to get out of it?
2. In my years after college, what benefits will I realize by joining this fraternity? (Is this fraternity a national org or local? If local, staying in the area might be the only way to take advantages of your membership after college).
3. What can I contribute to the fraternity?
4. How are the new members/pledges treated?
5. Is there hazing? To what level does the hazing reach?
6. What are the dues? Can I afford them?
7. What is the time commitment? Will I still have time to study and keep my grades up?

If they have members, then there is clearly a group of folks on your campus who think membership in that organization is worth it. If your plan is to transfer elsewhere and rush, then you won't be able to join any other fraternity, so that door will be closed to you.

Just do what you think is best for you.
