It's up to the school, I believe. For example, Truman State still has one more sorority to present (on Monday) and they want the colony to start in the Spring. It's a very short turnaround, but doable. I think a fall colonization would be more typical, but again, it's at the school's discretion.
I'm not sure what Maryland's preference is.

I wonder if the radio silence from Texas Tech is significant or if they simply forgot? Or perhaps they're waiting for monday?

Congratulations to the ZBT Colony at Quinnipiac University for officially receiving their charter tonight. Here's to the new Eta Omicron Chapter.

Perhaps the reporter doesn't understand the differences between sanctions and suspensions and investigations?

Thank you for clarifying the situation.

Thank you for following up. Here in Tucson we are more than a little annoyed with that KVOA reporter. She likes the sensational angle (but then that's what sells, right?)

Congratulations to the newly chartered Pi Kappa Phi chapter at Florida Gulf Coast University. The new chapter was chartered this past weekend.

(SIAP) Pi Kappa Phi at Iowa State University is going through a reorganization/recruitment period and is once again recognized by the university as an active chapter. They are currently renting their chapter facility to Delta Tau Delta while Delts build a new facility and will hopefully renovate and move back in to their house sometime in 2015-2016.

Always great news to hear about new colony/chapters being put in place.
Disheartening when we lose those chapters by stupidity. Hard for me to take especially when it is a LXA Chapter.
Guess it is like a glass of water that is tipped. The pluses and the minuses seem to even out. Basically we do no grow in numbers, we just stay even.

According to that site, voting for the group for Texas Tech, as well as the announcement, is supposedly November 10th. Not sure of the validity of course, though they had said on their website that they were announcing on the 31st. Not sure why the discrepancy.
I would've thought it would be better to vote sooner rather than later, so the presentations are fresh in your mind, but what do I know?

Tech has already voted. When you invite people to a party, you have to wait for them to RSVP, which can sometimes take a few days.

Not knowing who won, of course, but the last couple big announcements Alpha Xi made were HUGE episodes. Videos were made, multiple chapters were involved, etc. If this is the trend in big announcements, and knowing that from the moment they accept to the school that it will be public knowledge, none of this surprises me.
