Outfit HELP!
I am in charge of recruitment for Pi Phi at Colorado State and I need help coming up with outfit ideas for the philanthropy round...I just wanted to know if you all had any creative ideas for what to wear. We want to look a little dressier than just like jeans and t-shirts! Thanks!!

You only need to post the question once.

What is your theme for philanthropy day? Do you do a philanthropy activity? Colors? Any thing that you have to wear that is required?

Well our Philanthropy is all about literacy so last year we did like a primary color theme but it really can be anything!

It would help to have a little more information. What are you wearing the other days and what are your themes for those days. What day does philanthropy round fall on?

We do a no frills recruitment so there aren't really themes:
Day 1: Is Panhellenic Day and we are wearing white shorts and a greek provided t-shirt
Day 2: Is like a CSU pride day and we are wearing jeans and a CSU/Pi Phi shirt
Day 3: Is where all the sororities teach the PNMs about their different philanthropies this day the PNMs dress up nice so we want to look nice as well
Day 4: Pref Round and we are wearing white dresses

OK that helps. If you want to go a little dressier and it is no frills- I'm assuming that no clothing items can be ordered in bulk- right? I would do a sun dress. These are universally flattering on every one. I would choose a color that is either a Chapter color or a color that looks best on most people. You can have them wear strappy sandals and your pin. That way you look uniform and most girls will have a dress on that makes them feel and look good and they can choose shoes that wont hurt their feet. Our group has done this in white and some other colors and it always looks good- plus most girls are tan during recruitment

One thing I liked that my chapter has done is give the chapter a color scheme and let them create their own outfits using those colors. You look unified without looking the same. How about Pi Phi colors (wine, light blue) and two neutrals (gray, white)? Sisters can wear sundresses, skirts, capris, light cardigans, knit tops, polos, button-downs, belts, headbands, etc. Nice sandals.

The other thread has the same name but is really about a different subject -- party themes.

This thread has pics of what some other chapters wore for the different days of recruitment. It might get your mind going with some ideas:

Who on Panhel came up with white shorts? Yipes. I can't think of a more potentially unflattering garment, unless it's maybe white jeans.

Volleyball29, actually it is her place to tell them what she disagrees with being that the poster asked for ideas and opinions.
White shorts really aren't a good idea, because they're not that easy to pull off if you are fair skinned. White pants always call for a disaster! Just to be on the safe side.
When I went through recruitment, one chapter all wore really pretty sundresses and I thought they looked really nice. Most of our chapters wear letters on philanthropy night because it's the first night and everyone wants you to remember their letters!! Maybe you could do dressy tops all the same color, dark nice jeans, pretty heels and pretty accessories!!
