Is Outkast Better Then P-Funk/Parliment or James Brown?
There is a big argument wether or not Outkast is as good as P-Funk/Parliment and James Brown in another board. My argument is that Outkast is a good band, but let's compare this 20 years down the road. It's too early, beside, Outkast cannot even walk the grounds Bootsy Collins steps in. What do you think?

I grew up listening to the P-Funk sound of George Clinton and Co. for a long time. OutKast might be in the Same Category with Parliment and James Brown, but they're not quite better than them just yet. maybe another 10-20 years down the road.

Better? No. Heir apparent? Quite possibly, if they play their cards right.
Actually, I'd put it at P-Funk > Prince > Outkast.

Better????? Hellllllll to the naw.
James Brown is like.....I mean, there is no comparison. So many of today's artists were inspired by him, yet are so different. But I would never say Outkast was better.
P-Funk/Parliament....they are good. Not my favorite type of music. I would put Outkast in their category, definitely. But I get this feeling that Andre' is basically ripping off the gimmicky aspect of P-Funk and Parliament. (Which were sorta gimmicky themselves, but back then it was original.)
The music is on point, but Outkast definitely isn't there yet.

Of course they're not there yet. Why are people so taken by them??
People don't understand how hard it is to dominate a scene like some of these people.
Prince not only revolutionized but was so new.
So was Outkast, Michael Jackson, etc.
PFunk...no comparison whatsoever.
