Alpha Phi @ Texas Tech University
Quota was 45. Alpha Phi welcomed 49 gorgeous girls, plus quota additions and one junior.

It is my understanding that all but two chapters at Texas Tech made quota. There are 11 sororities at TTU.

As I don't know actual results, I am almost positive ADPi did not make quota. I heard that ADPi took 40. I would be FLOORED if Pi Phi did not make quota. Pi Phi is a very strong chapter at Texas Tech. I think the part about Pi Phi is incorrect, but then again I do not know offical results.

The information I got is that the two TTU chapters that did not immediately achieve quota were, in fact, Alpha Delta Pi and Pi Beta Phi. I do not know the whys or anything much more specific than that.
I do not know how many women each individual house took, though ladies here on GC have announced ADPi took 40 women. Several people here have reported Delta Gamma exceeded quota, taking 49.

From what I understand, what actually happened is that Pi Phi is such a strong house at Tech that in order to be "fair" to the other houses, Pi Phi was not allowed to offer as many bids as second or third tier houses. Some of the other houses were allowed to take more girls, and are now excitedly telling everyone that Pi Phi didn't make quota. I'm pretty sure that Pi Phi met the quota which was set for them specifically, and due to the fact that they tend to dominate Rush, that number was lower than what it was for some of the sororities who may be struggling in Rush and need to build membership. Pi Phi may have taken a smaller pledge class, but they didn't "not make quota" in the sense that some people are thinking of.

I sincerely doubt that was the case, as it would be in violation of NPC recruitment policies.
What I imagine happened was that Tech was using the new recruitment figures, which mean that traditionally strong chapters aren't allowed to invite as many members back after the first few rounds of rush. If other chapters made particularly strong showings this year, that could affected Pi Phi.

yea I am not really sure what exactly happened but I know it had something to do with being told that they couldn't invite back as many girls as some of the other houses.

annmarie, many large campuses require chapters with high return rates(ie:almost all if not all invitations to theirs parties are accepted) to release a higher percentage of pnms early on in the recruitment process. if it is newly implemented at texas tech, it may just be that the chapter you were referring to, is working on fine tuning it-i'm sure that they will figure it out.

Yes, any sorority in NPC formal recruitment that does not make total may snap bid/COR.

I found out that pi phi and adpi snap bid.. I know that they did not make quota and it is not due to the new rush rules, just normal under quota, probably because of harsh cuting before. I dont think people are going around excitedly saying that pi phi didnt make quota, as it hurts the entire greek community when these things happen.
