Anyone ever date someone with a characteristic of their deal breaker list before because you liked them for whatever reason?

No. Most of my dealbreakers, both serious and superficial, are lifestyle based. If I ever had to date someone who's socially conservative, never wants to go out, really ghetto, has completely different interests than mine, or is sexually uptight...I would be absolutely miserable. I'd rather live my life the way I want and be single, than to live my life in a way I despise and have a partner.

I had my first real date at an Applebee's. I was only 17, and didn't know any better, lol. I don't think that counts.

I am dating someone right now who violates at least two of my deal breakers (no college degree and he chews), and probably more--well, because he is pretty to look at, he makes me laugh, and he is good at kissing.

The thing is though--the more time I spend with him, the more I find things to like about him. I have been very pleasantly surprised. He doesn't have a degree now, but he would like to finish someday, so the ambition is there. And the chewing, he doesn't do around me, so I can handle that for now (he promised to brush after!) So, I am happy I gave him a chance beyond the first date.

Bipolar and psycho people are pretty evenly distributed so why does ONE person attract the psychos? LOL. So that's what I tell men who speak negatively of exes and/or have more than one "crazy" ex. The onus is on him to live a happy, drama-free life.
Exactly. I see it as a problem if the only reason why they broke up is because of HER. SHE'S psycho. And SHE was psycho, too. And believe it or not, EVERY WOMAN I'VE DATED is PSYCHO. At that point it's clear to me that the only common denominator in that equation is HIM!

the spit at the corner of the mouth is called spittle, I think. It's nasty.

My list:
bad teeth
bad hygeine
no ambition
no desire to travel (I've lived overseas, visited three countries)
doesn't like kids at all
doesn't/won't try new things
doesn't like dogs
bad kisser (this is #1 for me actually)
arrogance
has a long list of things a girl he dates must have, but doesn't have those things himself, or won't consider a girl if she has one of the things on his list. shows he's shallow and close-minded, IMO
only listens to one kind of music
can't drive
extremely metrosexual
has an annoying laugh
did I say superficial?
has no relationship with his mom (assuming childhood was "normal". Mama told me when I started dating: How a guy treats his mom, is how he will treat you)
laughs at my b'day celebration and doesn't recognize it for the holiday that it is.

Men who only shop at Borders and won't give Barnes and Noble a try is a big no-no in my book.

Bad breath, body odor, acting clingy, and being extra emotional.

Let's see...

A girl that doesn't read, or tells people she has never read a book before like it's an accomplishment.

One that doesn't work out, thinking that dieting (basically just not eating) will keep her fit.

A chick that is liberal. Can't trust 'em.

A bad kisser. Never thought it matter that much...until I went on a few dates with a chick I couldn't stand to kiss.

Lastly, I need to meet her mom. Chicks usually look like their mom when they are older, so it's meeting the mother will give me some idea of what to expect.

Seriously? I mean, I'll go to B&N, but only as a second (or third) resort. The B&Ns around here (1) induce claustraphibia by always having the shelves pushed too close together, (2) never have as good a selection as Borders and (3) never provide as much seating just to sit and read as Borders. Oh, and (4) don't keep their restrooms clean.
