I've got a meeting with one of my professors tonight--should be easy enough. I've got two regular classes this week--one on Saturday and one next Thursday. Then I'm DONE! I'll have 18 weeks to finish my thesis (I'm about 50 percent finished now!) and I should graduate in December. I'm so ready! We start adoption classes in September, and we start facilitating Grief Share groups in late August. I'll be so very ready to have my Masters finished!!!

I start wedding dress shopping in two weeks! My soon to be inlaws are visiting in a week, and I will finally get to meet them! I feel like simultaneously barfing and jumping up and down with excitement.

So you're engaged and you have yet to meet the future inlaws? *eep*

I met my inlaws when my husband and I had been dating for ... oh, about two weeks. The other extreme of *eep* ... I was so nervous. They were nice enough ... until we got engaged and my MIL turned into the bitch from hell, but that's a story for another day.

Yes, I was supposed to meet them during Christmas but I had a family obligation and wasn't able to fly out as planned. I'm pretty nervous about finally meeting them. I've spoken to them on the phone a few times, but nothing beyond that.

The spammer are getting extremely bad. They will be driving PNMs away and it's so close to recruitment time.

Can someone block CharlesEt? Bumping a thread and they post another spam post.

So it appears that my friends and sorority sisters have entered the "baby phase" of life (30-35ish, getting settled in careers, etc.)

That also brings about the inevitable infertility struggle phase.

It is really really hard to see people you love having babies juxtaposed with people you love not being able to get pregnant, having a hard time hanging out with those who are, etc.

Since when do you care about money?!? You spend money like it's your job. I get that you're now planning a wedding, but it's not like YOU are the one paying for it, your parents are.

I will stay quiet about your Sunday wedding choice, but I guarantee that you A) will have others say "Oh, it's Sunday?" as they try to hide their disdain and B) are not going to have as many people come because of that, especially considering that approximately 80% of your guest list is out of town. If you are cool with that, then great! I'll just quietly whine to my husband (and now you guys lol) about having to take Monday off (Although I suppose I don't have to... we live 1.5 miles away from the venue and my drive to work is about 10 minutes. I suppose I can haul my sorry butt in hungover.)

I think what bothers me the most though, is that she is going to be expecting the world for the bachelorette party (which I am planning), because the costs won't fall on her or her parents. Sigh. We'll see, I hope I'm wrong.

ETA: I know, I sound horrible. Other peoples finances are none of my business. But I can't help but get grumpy when all I see this girl do is spend spend spend then suddenly try to act frugal. How about some consistency?!

ETA2: Ok, I'm over it now. I'm glad this thread exists lol

This is curious/amusing to me. I didn't know weddings with alcohol (beyond perhaps a glass of champagne for the couple) were a thing until I was old enough to start attending friends' marriages. They're not done in my family but they sure are in other families. Guests having to call in to work the next day would never occur to me. TIL
