UM recruitment

Hi everyone!
Last night was the first night of recruitment here at the University of Miami and there are 413 women going through this year! This is a record high and insane considering we have only 6 NPC sororities:

Zeta Tau Alpha
Delta Gamma
Delta Phi Epsilon
Delta Delta Delta
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Sigma Delta Tau

There are no events tonight for obvious reasons.
Thursday-6 parties-philanthropy night
Friday-3 parties-skit night
Saturday-2 parties-preference
Sunday-Bid Day!

I'll keep you guys posted throughout the next couple of day!

Wow, ZTAMiami you all have your work cut out for you!!!
Congratulations on such a stellar turn-out. It says a lot about the quality of your system.
Good luck and let us know how your NPC orgs handle such a surprising volume of pnms. I think it'd be very educational for other campuses with similar numbers of orgs v. pnms.
(Of course, that's just the recruitment advisor in me coming out, you post whatever you want, as a rush thread addict I'm satisfied just knowing what color t-shirts you wear

Wow! If no one dropped out, that would mean pledge classes on 68! I'm sure some women will drop, but those are still large pledge classes -- what is quota usually at? Good Luck!

Hi all you awesome GCers!

Just so you know, I am an alumna so all my info is secondhand. I will be at pref tomorrow so all get as much detailed info then as I can.

Tonight is 3 party invitationals (skit night) and as of yesterday there were about 370 pnm's left. I'm sure there will be a few more drops tonight.

A little bit of UM info:
sororities have suites in the panhellenic building which are just a large chapter room, kitchenette, bathroom, small office/mailroom.
The latest colonization was Tri Delt in 99-2000 I believe.
most chapters are pretty ethnically/racially/religiously diverse
the last couple years quota has been high 40's-low 50's
ALL the chapters are excellent--Be proud of your sisters

I think expansion could be in the near future!

Here also in Miami @ FIU

we have rush starting this week Sept 17,
AHHH im so nervous!!! there are 390 girls signed up for rush...and that is VERY big considering last year only about 120 girls signed up! and we are a commuter school so for us this is very very big! im getting myself more nervous as i speak!
we dont have suites or houses like at the UM campus but we do rush in the campus ballrooms

the org's on my campus are:

Phi Mu
Alpha Omicron Pi
Phi Sigma Sigma
Alpha Xi Delta
Delta Phi Epsilon
Sigma Sigma Sigma

we have 2 locals but they arent allowed to participate in formal recruitment with the national org's not sure why...

Because they are not NPC groups and do not follow the NPC agreements/method of recruitment.

On some campuses local groups are allowed to participate in Formal Recruitment, in others, they are not.

SLG is a national group and has their own intake process. I don't know anything about DPhiO.

That is amazing! What is FIU planning to do with all of you!? I really hope they consider building a panhellenic building of sorts.

Actually the approximated count for PNM's is 396 right now, but there is a rumor that there might be more due to some lost paperwork! This is the largest Recruitment in my school's HISTORY!! All chapters on our campus are going to be outnumbered by PNM's!! If all the girls go through, all 6 chapters at FIU will DOUBLE in size!!! Wish us LUCK (we're gonna need it!)!!!

I was at both pref parties yesterday and they went really well. Everyone looked fabulous and the ceremony was beautiful! It brought back a lot of good memories!---Gosh I feel old!

Anyway, I was told yesterday that quota should be about 55! Bid day should be under way right now and when I get my updates I'll let you know the details.

I really wish their had been a UM pnm on here to post their story!

If this trend continues, would there be room for a new chapter on campus? I don't know who does PR for your Greek community, but they must be doing a fabulous job! What do you guys attribute the surge in numbers to? Good luck!

i just heard that D phi E's Omega Chapter @ UM picked up 51 AMAZING women!!! Congratulations to all......Hopefully our numbers will match as well!!!
