Voter Registration Deadline
Monday, October 4th is the last day to register to vote and be eligible to vote in the November 2nd election.
(Mods, is there any way we can sticky this at the top for a few days?)

Definitely - everyone vote, and please be an INFORMED voter. Read the news, go to campaign websites, whatever it takes. Get yourself informed, then get yourself out to vote.

Thanks -- I just went and re-registered. I've moved since the last election.

I've just turned in my application for an absentee ballot so I don't have to worry about remembering to go to the polls on 11/2...my husband does this all the time...

We're usually sent applications on the back of our voting booklet (the booklet that tells you what issues/elections you can vote on).
However, this year, we got applications on the back of local propoganda...They were already pre-printed for us...we just needed to sign our name to it and send it in to the local Voter's group...

If you want to vote in New York, check out that link. If not, google absentee ballot and the state in which you are registered.
While I am at it, here is how to register in New York City. There is still some time left, but not much.

According to the news a few minutes ago, voters in San Diego (maybe all of California) have until October 18th to register to vote.
Oh, boy, what a large voter's information booklet I have to look through!
