At my school you didn't have a choice-- even if from the beginning you only liked one-- you had to follow the rounds from 5 to 4 to 2.....

ETA: Unless you were cut and could not go to as many houses required

if this is true, i certainly hope the rho gamma explained this to her!! i would hate for her to show up to get invites and find out she was dropped all together.

No, you're not dropped. But, if you don't accept the maximum number of invitations that you can, you are not guaranteed placement.

She made it through Period 1. She was invited back to four of the six houses. Of the two that cut her, she was planning to cut one of them and the other one she liked, but was not in love with.

Cowboys - This is the group that has been a slow start. Everytime she sees them she likes them more and more.

Spurs - This is the front leader right now. She really likes these girls and they seem to be rushing her pretty hard.

Horns - She has liked these girls all along and they continue to be a favorite.

Guadalupe - She also likes these girls and feels very comfortable with them.

If they all invite her back to Pref, I think she will have a very hard time deciding who to choose.

I am really proud of her. For the past six months I have been telling her to fall in love with three sororities during rush and to not care which one she gets. Even though the Spurs are the front runners, she says she can see herself in any of the four. She realizes that they all have great girls and she will have a great experience. - I guess all that "preaching" I did must have registered!! Either that or she is telling me this so I won't be worried about her getting hurt!! Who knows? LOL

Best of luck to your daughter! I think in some ways it's harder on the moms than the rushees. My oldest daughter is only 7 but I can't imagine someone cutting my sweetie!

It sounds like your daughter (and you) have a great attitude. Thanks for keeping us posted!

Good luck to your daughter, 12mom3, and I hope that the rest of the week goes as well as the begining of it.

Sorry I have been quiet, but I decided to come to Austin for moral support yesterday at noon.

To cut to the end of the chase - my daughter has pledged =

Kappa Kappa Gamma

These are the girls she was in love with from the beginning, so I guess you could say - she had a very successful rush!!!
