I was in Louisiana at Grambling State at cheerleading practice. I'm from SF. A friend ran over to where I was practicing to tell me what happened. Problem was he's not from San Francisco (or Cali) and didn't know details about the Bay Area. That being said, he told me " There was an earthquake in San Francisco and the bridge fell into the ocean!"
Anyway it took hours form me to get through on the landline phone and it was to a friend that lived in Davis (UC Davis). When I finally got through, my family was ok and so was our house and my neighborhood in general. Our house is on slate. Worst day of my life. Misinformation and the waiting. ugh. And on top of that, I had friends on the freeway and at the baseball game.

That sounds like an amazing job. Congratulations to your daughter!
WIFLS: I'm finally done with school (for now), and am a licensed RN! Passed the NCLEX with 75 questions, and can finally start job hunting/moving to a new state. PNW here I come!

I met some of her chapter sister's last night, as last night was our Founders' Day Cocktail Party. I didn't get to play the name game, but they looked pretty young!

Barnard did it. That school is phenomenal. She has confidence I never had at that age. She is willing to work for things. She always has been. She sets goals and makes them happen for herself. She got into Barnard, right? LOL
She has a few chapter sisters in DC near her now too! She's looking at Harvard B school in a few years. I'm very proud of her She's with one of the major consulting firms which is how she got this project. She's in their federal services division which, this time, means the State Department. Cool stuff.

If I'm not mistaken, I do believe that CG has been busy with baby CG since September.

Just blew up at everyone on my FB page. Time to take a social media break.
AGDee you must be bursting with pride over Hypo! I've enjoyed reading about her journey. Feel like I know her a little from what you've shared.

I had one of those "only in New York City" experiences today.
I popped out to pick up some lunch, and, on my way back into the office building, I saw a furry. Full-body black-and-white-striped tiger outfit, tail and all. He was on the up escalator, growling and swiping his paw (playfully) at the air in the direction of people on the down escalator.
It was totally out of context. Halloween isn't until next week, and there isn't a furry convention in town (that I know of - of course, in NYC, you never know.)
When you get to the top of the escalator, you have to walk past a security guard to get to the security checkpoint and into the office building proper. (This first security guard is mainly there to help confused tourists.) Well, when the furry stepped off the escalator, the guard got this WTF look on his face - easily translated as "A big guy in a big black-and-white cat outfit just walked into the lobby, what the hell do I do?!?"
Only in NYC...

Well that's pretty darn exciting. But also mighty convenient when her team is tanking!
