The way back machine

I found an old archive of what the old gc looked like, those were the days of the site timing out all the time

Rain Man, when I read your post, I thought you were saying Brianne Leary and Kirstie Alley posted on Greek Source. That would have been cool. The Rev would have had fun debating Kirstie over Scientology.

I first joined greekchat in 2001, as a senior in college, with a different screen name. It's hard to believe that it's already been 3 years!! Time sure does fly.

GAWD! It's scary how much you forget when something better comes along! My name, HeidiHo and SHSUChiO were the mods for the Chi Omega forum....WoW! So much has changed.

Man I remember that and it was straight DRAMA--this was from mid '97 to about late '98. The current GC began in late '99.
Hell yeah I remember. The background was yellow and has that hard ass way of seeing replys to threads where you had to scroll all the way down and over. It was DRAMA. I first visited in Dec. 97 and it was hateful ugly. I said it before, it was like the wild west, So I lefet for a few years and eventually came back. I actually blocked GC at one time, as there was a feature you could sign up for, emails when there were site changes or updates. I was getting emails ALL the time. Finally, I decided to come back and chech what all had changed. Dear god. I remember when GC went 'purple'. I think it was right after 9/11. Looking at that old GC brings back memories. Also seeing all those old posters that are long gone... Wow. I had only been a member 2 weeks when that thing was saved. Now Its 2300 posts later. Too bad I didnt get a dollar for each post. Maybe I should send a bill....

LOL at the little flames that came up on the envelopes to say it was a heated discussion.

I'm a semi old school mostly because of who I've seen come and go . lifesaver-you and so many had the greatest-funniest threads. Even the bickering was hillarious.
I remember the flaming threads-they were the first ones to
read!

I miss the debates. Good stuff AND civilized.

At least there were interesting threads back then instead of some of the bs ones we have now.

ETA: Lol I'm reading some of these, and lol the "hoemonkey" and white boys game skills debate. oh wow!

Agreed PM_Moma!

Refresh my memory please. Who had the quote of the week thread? I loved that because if you missed something really off the wall, you knew where to find it.

I guess change is inevitable. I've noticed lots of our current wonderful, witty people are not around as much. Is exodus cyclical?

MISS YOU GUYS!

Probably.

I also think that as some of the younger members life situations change (job, marriage etc.) change, they fade away.
