Tea Cards - What are they and do I need them?

I recently found out from a recently-graduated friend that some people come into recruitment with something she called 'tea cards'. Well, I'm going to an SEC school(not one of the SUPER Greek-focused schools like Bama or something, but SEC nonetheless), and wasn't sure if this was a thing that would be looked upon as something that makes me stand out positively, or if it would look like I was trying too hard, since I haven't heard anything about them thus far. Or would it even matter?

I realize it's a little thing that I'm probably thinking about too much, but I don't want to mess anything up! Thanks so much and let me know!

Tea cards are personal calling cards, similar to business cards, but for social purposes. At the recruitments I have been involved in at various schools, the recruitment counsellors had the PNMs fill out specific info on index cards. Each PNM handed her card to a sorority member as she entered the door as proof she attended the party. Unless Panhellenic at your school states PNMs should have tea cards, I wouldn't worry about it.

Maybe others will chime in with their experiences with tea cards.

I just found a blog on sororitygirl101 that talks about tea cards at a certain SEC school. If that is your school you might look for that blog post and place an order for some tea cards.

Upon further investigation the UK Panhellenic FB page states that attendance will be taken with student ID so tea cards are not needed. Can a UK alum or active give us the scoop?

Gosh! Hadn't thought about these in years. I think that computers have pretty much done away with them. I haven't seen them in quote a while
