^^^ Ooooh, that would be pretty!

Has anyone ever done a thread on "What's your favorite badge from a GLO other than your own?" Mine is Alpha Chi Omega. I really like the lyre, with the delicate gold strings.

I love badges that represent that GLO's colors (yay blue & blue badge! ), so that would be really cool. Are there any Gamma Phi badges that have different stones on different letters? I know you have "points" that you can vary on the Phi... but I can't remember seeing a badge with a jeweled Gamma & Beta that are different from the Phi.

Yes http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...d.php?t=121719 Somehow I have managed to NOT post in there! I either was MIA from GC for a while or couldn't pick. You might as well resurrect it!

Have I ever mentioned how in the olden-golden days there were certain groups that had their badges made out of a hammered down 20 dollar gold piece?

this is a reproduction, but both Phi Mu and ADPi fall into that category..

You can do almost any stone with the Gamma Phi badge. Mine has an emerald phi. The one I had in college (and was lost/stolen) had all three letters in emerald.

I've never seen any with two different stones other than the pearl. I have seen (in college) all pearl, with different color on the phi. (Our President's was all pearl with an emerald phi).

Another sister will know more than me, but I think we could probably do any metal combination with any stone offered, and I think we could probably still do an all emerald badge, sapphire badge, whatever. One of the reason I loved Gamma Phi was that we had SO MANY badge options. Each one was unique to the individual but also beautifully Gamma Phi!

If you call IH, they will work with you on customization of stones and metals, but I think that higher level approval might be needed for anything really unusual. That's the impression I got when I was working with IH on a customized badge. I have not personally seen a badge with different stones in the different letters, but it must be possible if summer_gphib's president had one with pearls and stones. I think it must be pretty rare.

To clarify, I don't have that pin in my possession-just came across the photo yesterday while sorting through some old files.

Here is an old 1860s pin from a high school fraternity, you can see it was made from a US quarter of the day.....

(No stunning/antique badges, sorry!)

After a mix up with ordering, I finally have my quill!!! It's just the standard gold filled, but it's mine and it's so perfect and beautiful I'll post pictures when my camera finishing charging. Honestly, while we were waiting for them to come in I didn't really feel like a full member. And I'm really happy I get to wear my own badge to our UMD colony's pledge in this weekend!

Interestingly, I'm not sure that I've ever seen the standard quill without any "bling". I like it.

KD offers a gold-filled badge with a chased border and a sterling silver badge with a chased border. It's a good thing, too. Gold is very expensive right now and it's really driving up the price of jewelry. I don't like the chased border badge in GF very much, but I think it looks really sharp in silver. I'm going to order one eventually.

justgo_withit: your badge is beautiful. I love all of the "symbol" badges (quill, key, arrow, anchor). They are so distinctive.
