LOL I told you. I didn't see it, but when I saw the previews it looked dumb as hell. I don't know if Purple Rain would be considered a musical, but if there is a musical that I liked, that one would be it. The acting was sorry as hell, but the songs were the shit.

Cheerful, you got dude on ignore? LOL this is some funny ass shit.

You'd probably like it, Dee, if you really enjoy musicals.

Yep, you did. I should have listened to you. I dunno, I just really liked the movie "Grease", so I thought I would like "Rock of Ages", too. I loved "Purple Rain", but I don't know if it would be considered a musical or not. That's a good question. Funny thing, I just recently saw "Purple Rain" a few years ago, but then again, it came out like a year or so after I was born. I love Prince.

Why do people think that just because they're not getting a reply that automatically they're on ignore? I don't have anyone on ignore. It's just that I don't really like getting into any dialogue with usernames who are a part of that "clique" thingie they have on here, so I don't read their posts (unless it's quoted by another username).

Nah, I rarely take your posts seriously. I think you just like to annoy people. Plus, your posts are hilarious.

I stopped fuckn with Prince. He was tight when he was with the New Power Generation, but after that, dude's music went down hill.

I didn't really like him as much when he was with NPG. I liked his music much more when he was with The Revolution. I don't know his music, now. I mean, I haven't heard much by him since he was with NPG.

Hey, I don't read everyone's posts either. As Linda Richman would say, no big whoop.

I don't think anyone reads everybody's posts, folks just don't have that kind of time on their hands. But for the mofos whose posts you don't read, you might as well add her posts to that list, because she damn sure hasn't been, and isn't reading yours LOL!

That was some funny ass shit when you were riding on her, though LOL.

No shit, quite a few GCers just like to annoy people. If someone can find humor in a username calling their man Dusty Dick, surely that someone can find humor in other snarky posts.

GC has a "clique" thingie and I wasn't invited.

CTFU! This is some funny ass shit. That's why I didn't respond to the comment about me trying to annoy folks. I've gotten so used to calling dude Dusty, that I forgot what dude's username is LOL. Dude responds to it so I don't think he gives a shit, which is why I got so used to calling dude that LOL.

Wait. I thought you were the one who sent out the invitations.

ETA: I just realized this was the "current" movie review thread. Gotta stay on topic.
I finally saw Avengers not too long ago. It was great!
Madagascar 3 was really good, too. Excellent family movie. Whoever animated Martin Short's seal did a fantastic job - especially in one particular scene where he's responding to Alex's explanation of Trapeze Americano.

I enjoyed Rock of Ages. No, I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for its Oscar nominations, but for what it was, it was fun. About 10 minutes in my husband leaned in and said "they're in love but due to a misunderstanding they will break up, then through divine luck they will get back together and live happily ever after." And if you throw in the "let's put on a show!" story line of every old Broadway musical, you've pretty much covered the entire story line of Rock of Ages. And of course there are about a million cameos that you have to look closely for. If you expected ANYTHING more than that out of the movie, then yes you would be tremendously disappointed. But if you grew up in the hair band era, and I did, it was kind of a tongue in cheek look back at what we thought was cool back then.

Nu uh! My imaginary minions quit due to lack of compensation.

I am still going to see Rock of Ages despite how relatively poor it has done.

I am not shocked that the Adam Sandler movie has not done well. His movies are dumb. He stopped being funny yeeeears ago.

My sentiments exactly. But, we didn't make it that far, we walked out before the ending.
