I was a huge fan of Betsey Johnson's fashions throughout college. Then, somewhere along the line, a size 12 became an extra large, which barely covers one of my girls. Haven't really looked at her stuff since.

I guess Reality can be a little cruel.

I used to LIVE in Betsey clothes when I was a thin young thing working in New York back in the day. They were adorable and, equally important, affordable for this poor public relations drone.

Her shop on East 60th Street was so cool; all pink walls and zebra print cushions on the chairs. My favorite sales lady was Lise; who convinced me that Manhattan was a long way from Pittsburgh and it was okay to wear thigh high stockings with a miniskirt!

I took my daughters shopping there last time we were in NYC and just when I got them hooked, it's going away

Have heard that the label will live on just not as an independent label.
