My fraternity is the closest knit guys, and by the way im going to law school next year so I am pretty sure my grammar is not too terrible. Anyways, if you knew what a true pledge program should look like then you would not be whining on this forum like a little girl. What about the women that are commenting? Do they get a free pass to whine? end of story. By the way at my school ODPHI has like 8 people, and are about to fall off, so do not tell me anything, when I personally run a chapter of 100 brothers. thank you

Ha! Just saw this.
Did this bitch really try to call ME out because of what a chapter of my fraternity is doing? LOL
If your pledge program was the epitome of your Greek experience, good for you. Some of us make a difference as actives, though. And when a group of 8 guys can handle what your group of 100 can, I think it speaks volumes about those 8 men. Think about it.
When you start managing regions and alumni associations, then you can put in your two cents.

How is life at Central Arkansas, fratboy_677?
It's funny how you talk about the ODPhi from that school, considering we don't have a chapter or colony there.
*sniffs* I think I smell a perp!

Well, if he's not a perp, he's shown a complete lack of discretion.

You know, I think I recall that the guy who asked fratboy what chapter he's in (sigtau305, aka per his sig Garth J. Lampkin) is the former Executive Vice-President of Sigma Tau Gamma. So unless he's a perp trying to get the Sigma chapter in hot water, fratboy (the president of the chapter he "personally runs"?) may have just invited some unwanted attention from nationals.

Response
Mystic Cat - you are very perceptive. This individual has attracted some unwanted attention from Headquarters. Mine.
A member forwarded me this purported member's comments. I have reason to believe he is not from our Sigma Chapter at Central Arkansas. I will have that chapter, and the chapter I believe he is from, investigate.
Contrary to his assertions, and as many of you have rightly pointed out, hazing is not a necessary part of the fraternity/sorority experience - if anything, it is a perversion of it. Our organization does not advocate hazing. And contrary to his assertions, our best and tightest-knit chapters do not haze, and would be offended by his assertion that abuse is what it takes to bond men together.
Since I am also an attorney, I'd like this individual to understand that he has to pass a character and fitness examination in order to be permitted to sit for the bar exam in any state. Conviction of a crime is not necessary to deny permission to sit - any showing of moral turpitude is. This qualifies. I hope this individual understands that he is jeopardizing his entire career by engaging in this behavior.
Hazing, by definition, is a crime. I agree that there are activities a chapter can engage in to build the bonds of brotherhood. You just cannot engage in activities that are hazing. If any member of one of my chapters, or of any other group for that matter, wants ideas about some of the things they can do, they should contact me or their own national headquarters.
We have developed a life-long membership program called the Path of Principles to address some of these issues. Some chapters have been slow to adopt it. Change is often difficult. But I can tell you that our chapters that have been courageous enough to rise to that challenge have performed better because they have adopted the program.
On behalf of the Fraternity, I apologize to all of you for this (alleged) member's comments. He clearly is not living up to the values Sigma Tau Gamma stands for. Frankly, if he truly believed the behavior he was engaging in was appropriate, he would sign his true name to his post, or contact me so we could discuss what is and is not appropriate. His anonymity speaks volumes to me. He knows what he is doing is wrong.
I would also like to apologize to you for appearing on your forum. I do not make it a practice to check out the posts on here - I think it is good for you to have a place you can talk without fearing that your headquarters is lurking about. I am only here in response to a request from a member who was concerned about the posts made by this individual.
Douglas Haman, Esq.
General Counsel & Chief Operating Officer
Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, Inc.
p.s. Garth is a member of our Beta Upsilon Chapter. He is not, nor has he ever been, an employee of HQ. But I can personally say he is a good and loyal member of the Fraternity.

Thanks for the update and good luck getting it all sorted out.
And for the correction about Garth. I'm not sure why I thought he had been Exec V-P, but he certainly does Sigma Tau Gamma credit here.

I don't think Central Arkansas has a chapter of 100 anything.

The more hard core someone claims to be, the less likely I am to believe it. If you, your process, your chapter, whatever, is so great you wouldn't have to tell me about it on the internet, I'd just know.

You said that you were a Sig Tau Gamma multiple times, then you reference a fraternity that never had a chapter at your school. Right
