The only downside of not going to visit him for the weekend is that everyone who expected me to be out of town this weekend wants to know why I'm not going. Apparently, "there was an emergency and I had to reschedule" is an invitation to get nosy and push me to say more.

But, I'm also super nosy. So, I usually ask more questions that what would be considered appropriate.

Yeah, emergency begs the question. You could've just said there's a scheduling conflict.
Now that you've peaked their curiosity, you should just say you don't feel like talking about it.

Lol well if y'all put it that way.  I guess it's annoying because a) I know the emergency's not mine, it's the friend I was going to visit while seeing "the man" and b) They follow it up with, "Oh that's too bad...are you disappointed?" Then, I either have to lie or explain why I'm not.

So, that date the other day? It was a bit awkward, but it was good. And we totally hung out again today. And we're watching Empire Strikes Back this Sunday. I'm SO excited.

Soooo friend blew off movie night because bf is in town. Again.  I think it's uber sweet how he surprises her and she should hang out with him after he drove all this way. But this is the 2nd time she's cancelled on me because he randomly showed up and it's getting annoying. *sigh* It wouldn't matter even if she was free, I just found out "Precious" isn't playing ANYWHERE near here.  I wanna see that movie!!!
