Tau Chapter loses a brother

From the Tau Alumni listserv:

"It brings me great sorrow to tell you this. Earlier this week Tau chapter suffered the loss of one of our younger brothers.

Cita Peterson, a 20-yr old sophomore who pledged last spring, died after being struck by a van around 5pm Tuesday. She was out by Newnan's Lake near Hawthorne cycling on the bike trail. She was taken to Shands but died at the scene. She was wearing a helmet. The police investigation is still underway.

Wednesday evening a candlelight vigil and memorial service was held outside her Keys residence.

Right now, there is a memorial in front of the booth. Brothers have gathered to make cards and pins, drop off flowers and stuffed animals.

APO has lost a great person far too early in life. Some of Cita's closest friends were in APO and we will all miss her dearly. We have chosen to remember her as the bubbly blond- always full of energy and ready to make you laugh."

My heart hurts from hearing this news. I can't even begin to express how sorry I am for her family, the chapter and the fraternity as a whole.

OMG!!! That is very sad news to hear! She was too young to leave this Earth but I am praying that the chapter and her family will be in good hands with the Lord! I will pass this along to the rest on my chapter today so we can hopefully send a card out to the chapter.

I had to edit after realizing that this is at UF.
